He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. It will be said on that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Isaiah 25:8-9
Easter morning we got up bright and early, headed down stairs to see what the Easter Bunny Left, attempted to eat breakfast in between bites of candy filled eggs, and headed to Church for the 8:15am service. Early I know but that’s what we are used to so we decided to stick with it. We met my parents, my sister, my niece, and our very good family friend Gavin there and enjoyed a wonderful Easter service. After church we headed home for an Easter brunch we were hosting at our house. After brunch we headed out back for the kids to have an Easter Egg hunt and then it was about time for naps. Not just for the kids, for everyone. Lol. It was a wonderful Easter and we all very much enjoyed our day together as a family. So blessed! Best part of Easter was hearing Owen repeat over and over the ‘real’ reason why we celebrate Easter. He was fascinated with the story of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection and never once said Easter is about Bunnies & Eggs. Way to go Owen!!! He has Risen, He has Risen Indeed.
Please bare with me folks, I have a Lot Lot Lot of pictures….
So anxious to see what the Easter bunny left…
I’m telling you, these kids had way too much candy before the clock hit 7:30am! Crazy!
All ready to head off to church!
Owen wanted Pampo to sit on his lap. Lol. They LOVE their grandparents!
Once we got home from church their were more Easter presents to be opened between the cousins and grandparents. Geez, it looked like Christmas. Spoiled kiddos.
Thank you Auntie Kiki, Uncle Chris, Cousin Abi, Nana & Pampo for all the wonderful and very generous Easter goodies for the kiddos.
While the kids were busy playing with all their new stuff, I was busy trying to get Brunch ready…
Autumn decided to assist me with the Monkey Bread Prep work.
And of course she snuck in lots of tasting the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
We all gathered around the delicious spread and listened to Owen’s wonderful Easter prayer. (Abi was napping during lunch for those who were wondering where she was.)
Sis made Deviled Eggs, Mom made a fruit salad, and
I made some Monkey Bread and a Spinach, Ham & Cheese Torta. Yum. Brunch was AMAZING!!!!
After lunch, we all headed out back to watch Owen & Autumn hunt for Easter Eggs.
Owen was an old pro at hunting for Easter Eggs from last year and from his Easter Egg hunt at school.
Once Autumn realized what she was supposed to be doing she got right into hunting mode. She did really well and was lucky enough to have Nana follow her around to hold her basket.
Showing off their treats.
Owen was Hysterical and put on a modeling show for us in the grass! We were crying we were laughing so hard.
Playing football.
Getting tickle attacked by Gavin. Owen just adores Gavin!
Silly Abi kept eating the sand. She thought it was so funny!
Once all our company left the kids were pooped. We ate dinner, gave them a much needed bath and decided to all cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie. Nana & Pampo got Owen Cars 2 in his Easter bag so that was the movie of choice.
What a super super FUN day!
Happy Easter Everyone!!!!!!
