McCall's Pumpkin Patch

Well Brandon's days off have officially changed from Mon & Tues to Thurs & Fri. It isn't really a big deal for us since it is still during the week, but we do have a lot of friends and family that also have Friday's off. This past Friday we went with some friends of ours to the McCall's pumpkin patch in Moriarty, NM. That's about 45min East of Albuquerque. We had so much fun even though it was pretty muddy and kind of rainy weather. Owen had a blast at the rabbit petting farm, on the hayride to the pumpkin patch, the delicious ginger bread cookie he got and most of all he liked playing in the corn box. Yes a corn box, it is like a sand box but filled with corn. How creative! If only we could get one in our backyard. Here are some fun family pic's of the Burgess Family and also below is a slide show of our fun filled day. Enjoy!!!

Grammy's October Visit

Owen's Grammy (Brandon's Mom) came down from Colorado for a visit this past Thursday-Monday. We had a blast while she was here and Owen took to her right away. Within about two minutes Owen had already figured out how far he could push his boundaries with her in town. Every time I would say no to him he would run strait to Grammy with his little alligator tears rolling down his cheeks. So dramatic! While she was here we spent a day at the zoo, went to have Owen's Halloween pictures taken, did a little shopping and ate way too much food! He had a blast with her and kept her very busy. So much for her relaxing weekend away. It was so sad to see her leave, especially since Owen started balling when we dropped her off at the airport yesterday. Can't wait until Christmas to see her again. Here are some cute pics of Owen with his beautiful Grammy. Love you Grammy!Chillin in the car together! All dressed up and ready for Church.Owen is so happy eating the cookie Grammy bought him at dinner. Still eating his cookie.Owen and Grammy playing in his new play room!

The Zoo w/Grammy & Nana

While Owen's Grammy was in town Brandon was able to take Friday off to spend a day with the Family. It was such a beautiful day in ABQ so we decided to take Grammy to the Albuquerque Zoo. My mom, my friend Jess, and Owen's BFF Abby also met us there. I know you all have probably had enough with the zoo pictures already since Owen and I seem to go there every 2 or 3 weeks, but humor me and enjoy these pics too.

Dinner Double Date

Since Brandon's Mom was in town and we know she needed some much needed one-on-one time with Owen, Brandon and I were forced to go on a date. Okay who am I kidding we needed no forcing. We loved our anniversary dinner so much that we decided to go back to that same restaurant for a nice dinner out. Since my parents are usually our babysitters we invited them out with us. It was nice to spend some time with my parents without Owen. Enjoy our dinner pics.

Bronco's vs. Chargers

Well my friends, many people were doubting them but the Broncos are now 6 & 0! Who saw that coming, Brandon? Yes, we all know Brandon is an avid Bronco's fan, but seriously he is the only person I know who said that the Broncos were going to be really good this season. Well predicted Brandon, you know your football. Last night we got to enjoy the Bronco's vs. Chargers game as a family since it was a Monday night game. Here are a few pics from our evening. GO BRONCOS!!!!So cute. Owen and his Daddy watching football. Owen is saying "Go-Go" in this picture. This is after Eddie Royal ran a kickoff return for a touchdown for the second time! Here is the happy Broncoholic family!

Just Like Daddy....

I guess everyone is bound to pick up a few of their parents traits, weather good or bad, right? Anyone who knows Brandon knows that he has quite an addiction to video games. Well last night Brandon had his friend Gavin over to play some "vids" as they call it and of course Owen did not want to be left out! We gave Owen a controller that happens to be broken and let Owen think he was playing along with them. O my goodness, he thought it was so cool! Lol, enjoy the pics.Yes, that is one intense face he has there. Doesn't he look like he really thinks he is playing?

Seriously, look at the picture above and then the picture below, they look identical. I knew it was just a matter of time before Owen wanted to fall into his Daddy's same addictions. O' well, I love my boys!

Barnes & Noble and A Busted Lip...

Yesterday, my good friend and I took our kids to Barnes & Noble to play. It is so cute they have a kids area that has a stage for story time with lots of cute benches and a table with a Thomas the Train track set up for them to play with. They also have tons of display books for the kids to read and play with. Since Owen is quite obsessed with books he had a great time and was so shocked with how many books were surrounding him. Well something was bound to happen since all three of the kids were having so much fun and were on their best behavior, and yes it just so happened to be my child to have the incident. Owen was trying to climb up onto a bench and his arm slipped and his poor face slammed right into the corner of the bench. Well that sounds pretty harmless except for the fact that one of his teeth went all the way through his bottom lip. I know, I freaked out. There was lots of blood and lots of screaming, and might I remind you that we were in a book store! Well, I was able to get the bleeding to stop after about ten minutes of applied pressure so there was no need to make a trip to the ER. I also had my friends husband across the street come over and look at it since he is an EMT. Owen cheered up very quickly once we got home and he got a Popsicle, an ice cube and some Tylenol. That was my first big incident with Owen so needless to say I was very shaken up and I balled my little eyes out because I felt so bad! Here are a few pics from our crazy day. Owen playing with the train set.

Here is Owen and his friend Averie sitting on the bench playing with some stuffed animals.

Here is Owen's lip about 3 hours after his little incident. This picture of it doesn't really look that bad, but the biggest but is on the inside of his lip. He may have a little scar on the outside. Poor Baby :*(

Chuck E. Cheese & Mall Rides

This past week has been pretty eventful for Mr. Owen. On Tuesday Brandon had a dentist appointment, which is in the mall, so Owen and I decided to tag along while he was getting his teeth cleaned. I did a few laps around the mall with Owen in his stroller for some much needed exercise and then we headed to the play area. Well, Brandon's appointment was taking forever and Owen was getting a little tired of the play area so we decided to try out the little coin rides. Owen had so much fun. He rode in a Hot Pink Ice Cream Truck and two cool Race Cars. Well it drained my pocket $3.00, ridiculous for a 30 sec ride, but Owen loved it.
Then on Wednesday, a good friend of mine invited Owen and I to Chuck E. Cheese, and since Owen loved the Mall Rides so much I decided it was a great idea. So Melissa, her two kids and Owen and I were off for a Chuck E. Cheese adventure. Owen had a blast today. Between Chuck E. Cheese, all the fun rides and the delicious pizza he ate I am not sure what he enjoyed more. It was very nice since we had the whole place to ourselves, the kids ran around like wild children all morning. Then when Chuck E. Cheese came on stage, Owen's face lit up and he started dancing like crazy! So funny. Enjoy the pics.

Into EVERYTHING!!!!!

Owen has become quite the handful lately! He is so fascinated with getting into every drawer and cabinet and checking out what is behind every door in the house. O yea' did I mention he is very into wearing every ones shoes, sock and clothes. The other day Brandon took his socks off in the living room and Owen insisted on wearing them the rest of the afternoon...Here he is in Daddy's socks that take up his entire leg closing the drawer he just finished playing in. What can I get into in here? This little stinker loves to play in my disaster of a pantry.Nothing to see here. Why don't I just shut this door! Here he is shaking his Cherry 7-Up bottle full of rocks. O yes, and still wearing Daddy's socks. He threw a fit when we finally took them off. O yes, every kid has one, the famous spaghetti face. He insists that he can feed him self and then we end up with a mess like this. O well, it is great for his fine motor skills.

Broncos vs. Cowgirls

Yesterday was the first time the Bronco's played the Cowboys in 4 years! Brandon and I were so stoked for the game he took the day off and we decided to have a party. We invited my family and all our delirious Cowboy fan friends. My Dad made his very famous and delicious Hot Wings and we had tons of other food. It was so much fun and we all ate way too much! I have to admit it was a little intimidating since there were 4 sets of cowboy fans and Brandon and I were the only ones cheering for the Broncos, but we had faith in our team anyway! Well if you watched the game yesterday you would know we had a house full of disappointed people, well except for Brandon and I of course, Wooo Hooo, Go Broncos!!! O yea' and any one who knows my husband, knows the day would not be complete without a bet on the table. I am so happy Brandon won the bet and didn't have to wear are friends Cowboys paraphernalia all week! Since Brandon won, he got to write the cowboy's score on our Die Hard Cowboys friends cast, Hehehe! Here are a few pics from yesterday. Sorry there are no Owen pics since he was all over the place yesterday. I couldn't get him to stay still long enough to get one. Needless to say he had a blast! Here was the sign my lovely husband had me make for our front door. Here we are all dressed up and ready for the game. Happy Brandon :) , Sad Paul :(Here is what Brandon wrote on Paul's cast. Poor guy has to keep this cast on for another whole week, but hey, a bet is a bet!

Play Day @ The Mall

Yesterday play day went to the Mall. I know it sounds kind of lame for the kids, but in the mommies defense it was a trip we all needed to make. Jessica, Kaitlyn and I desperately needed to buy are kiddos a new fall/winter wardrobe since all our kids pants from last year are now high waters on them. Yes did everyone catch that, I said Kaitlyn. It was so nice to have her back! Her and Olivia came down to visit for the week and boy has Livie changed. She is so talkative now and crawling everywhere. We miss them so much and can't wait for them to move back in February! So anyway, we got some much needed shopping done and Owen got some cute outfits that were on major sale at The Children's Place, one of my favorite stores. The kids even got some cool new shoes from Payless. His winter wardrobe still needs some work but we got a very nice chunk of shopping done yesterday. Since the kids did so well while we were shopping around for them we decided to let them burn up some energy for an hour in the Mall play area when we were done shopping. And yes to all you concerned Grandma's of the swine flu epidemic, there was plenty of hand sanitizer used while we were there! Hope you enjoy the slide show of the kids playing.
