(1 Day Old, 1 Year Old, and 2 Years Old)

So much has changed over the past 2 years!!!

As you all know, our Sweet Little Baby Girl turned 2 last week! After lots of searching and suggestions, we finally chose a pediatrician for the kiddos. It was pretty high up on the priority list upon moving because I knew Autumn would need her 2 year old wellness check-up and shots only 2 weeks after moving. I chose Dr. James DeMahy at Arapahoe Park Pediatrics. Thankfully, I did GREAT. I loved the office/staff and more importantly I LOVED the doctor. He was really nice, personable and really made Autumn feel very comfortable.

So here are Autumn’s 2 year Stats ( I will also compare them to Owen’s Stats from when he was 2):

                        Autumn:                                                            Owen:

Weight:      20lbs. (-13 percentile)                                   27lbs. (40th percentile)

Height:       32.75in. (22nd Percentile)                            36.5in. (93rd percentile)

I know! It is pretty crazy how incredibly tiny Miss Autumn is. Everyone keeps saying, “but look at her mom, her mom is tiny”. Although that may be true, especially my height, but in all honesty I wasn’t that tiny as a toddler. At a year Autumn was in the 1 Percent for weight, at 18 months she went down to the –10 Percentile and now here we are at 2 years and she is in the –13 Percentile. Is everyone seeing this downward trend? So what now you may ask?! Well, Dr. DeMahy would like me to send over her growth chart since this was his first time seeing her and he didn’t have her full updated chart quite yet, but he is a bit concerned. When the nurse typed her weight into the computer to record it, a big sign popped on the screen that said, “Weight: cause for concern.” Not really what you want to see as a parent. Any who, the doctor is mainly suggesting that we run some blood work on Autumn to make sure she is not suffering from some sort of growth problem. For example her body may not be properly absorbing proteins like it should be. He wasn’t overly concerned, especially since her development and speech is totally on par for where she should be, but on another hand, he doesn't really just want to ignore the fact that she is on a downward slope with her weight (not so much losing weight, but lack of gaining it). So as her Mom, I would be completely lying if I said I wasn’t concerned too, but I am trusting God that it will be nothing and we will in fact be 100% reassured that we just have a tiny daughter on our hands. A positive thing is that she is at least on the charts for her height now. Lol. So to sum up her doctor appointment, aside from her weight the doctor was very happy with her development and her ears seem to look great after her Ear Tube Surgery!

And my summery of my little Autumn at 2 is that she is an Energetic, Wild Child, Full of Personality, who LOVES to watch Team Umizoomi, Loves to play with Baby Dolls, Loves to Laugh, Loves her Family, is Very Independent, Has an Extreme Attitude Problem, Loves to give kisses & Hugs, is very Stubborn, and is a Strikingly Beautiful Precious Child from God! I could not be more thankful that God has given Brandon and I this sweet child to raise and I am anxiously looking forward to seeing the future God has planned just for her. We love you our sweet Autumn Rebekah Burgess!!!

I forgot to add that the person I think Autumn looks up to the very most is her big brother Owen. Don’t get me wrong, the two of them fight like crazy, but at the end of the day, they have this bond that I absolutely LOVE to watch…

072320121826

They love being silly together.

072720121874

And when Autumn is sad or hurt, the first one she goes to to console her is her Big Brother…

And to her that is the Best feeling in the World.

So Precious! So Blessed! And oh, so very Thankful!!!!

Our Week…

As you can see, there is no creativity with my blog title. So as I am sure you already guessed, this blog is about ‘our week’. Since Autumn’s big birthday bash, we have mainly been just soaking up our last week of vacation together before Brandon starts his new job on Wednesday, August 1st. I can not even begin to explain how AWESOME it has been having him home for a whole month. It’s like our family sabbatical. Although we didn’t get to go on any cool trips or do anything too out of the norm, it was some great family time that we will never forget. It made the ‘move’ transition so much easier on all of us.

I am not going to go in order of days of the week like I typically do, mainly because my brain seems to be mush right now and I can’t remember for the life of me what we did on what day. Guess that’s what happens when you don’t have a routine or schedule in place? Any who, here we go…

My sister-in-laws friend Val told me about this really cool VBS (Vacation Bible School) program she signed her son up for when she was at Autumn’s Birthday party. I was very intrigued. I called her up on Monday and asked more about it, not realizing it had actually started that morning. Yikes. Anyway, she suggested that we show up Tuesday morning to see if they were still accepting new kiddos. To our luck, they were. The program was at Living Way Fellowship Church in Highlands Ranch, its about a 15 minute drive from our house. The program was Monday thru Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm. Owen was so excited and very brave to just walk in not knowing a single person and never have stepped foot in this church and just sat right down and started talking to people. I am so proud of the little man he is!

Here he is with his awesome new shirt they gave him. The program this year was titled “Amazing Wonders Aviation, Encountering God’s Awesome Power”. He had a blast and was really bummed when it was over.

While Owen was busy at VBS, we took it upon ourselves to spend some special one-on-one time with our sweet little Autumn…

She is pretty park obsessed these days, so that is mainly where we went after dropping Owen off at VBS.

I think it was Wednesday, we got a call from Brandon’s sister who was in need of a babysitter because her sitter was unavailable that particular day. Of course we jumped at the opportunity to have our niece Bailey ALL DAY!!!!! Brandon went to go pick her up while Autumn and I went to get Owen from VBS. When we finally got all 3 kiddos together, they had a BLAST! Owen and Autumn just loved having a baby around to entertain all day and Bailey loved watching them put on a show for her. It was so precious watching the 3 of them play and interact with each other.

All Autumn wanted to do was ‘hold’ Bailey. Isn’t this the cutest picture you’ve ever seen. They totally look like sisters not cousins.

Here is one of the many reactions Bailey gave while watching Owen and Autumn being their crazy little selves! She is so stinkin adorable!

Owen and Autumn even made up a song all about Baby Bailey and sang it and danced for her. I wish so badly we would have recorded it because Bailey was hysterically laughing at them.

While we ate dinner we decided to pull out the Bumbo seat for Baily to sit in while the rest of us ate. Its been collecting dust in the garage since the kids don’t need it anymore. The kids were so fascinated with all their old baby toys we pulled out that they were fully entertained after dinner…

We CAN’T wait for the next day we get to have sweet Bailey! She is honestly the easiest baby I have EVER had the privilege of babysitting.

I do also have to admit, having a baby around all day really gave Brandon and I major baby fever. I think it just solidified our decision that we both would still like another kid in the future :) especially since the kids were so helpful with her! Side note: NO I am NOT preggo!

There has been a big obsession with play dough in our house lately…

Owen and I get really into our play dough time together when Autumn is asleep. The other day we made a Fruit Bowl, a Pizza, and a Grill with Steak and Corn on the Cob.

We went to Owen’s favorite Park, “Airplane Park”. I believe it’s his favorite park because it is huge and there is so much to do there. There are two different play grounds, a creek (which I am finding is at a lot of parks in the area so I think I need to invest in some galoshes for the kids) and a train. They had a blast at the park…

I didn’t have my camera this particular afternoon, so I snapped a few pics on my phone. Not the best but you get the idea. Here they are on the train ride through the park. They sat in the very back so they could ride backwards.

Playing in the creek!

It’s all fun and games until Owen’s shorts get wet. Lol. He gets so mad when his clothes are wet, hints why I need to keep some galoshes in the car for him. Autumn could care less.

Friday was Owen’s last day of Vacation Bible School. The VBS program put on a really cute performance of the Bible Songs they learned over the week. It was absolutely adorable. Autumn loved it and was singing and dancing in her chair along with all the kids on stage and even Mimi came to watch them preform. I could not possibly be more proud of my Sweet Owen.

Look how stinkin’ happy Owen was when he spotted Brandon, Autumn, Mimi and I in the audience when he was walking in! Each class in VBS had different shirt colors. Owen was in the ‘pink’ class but since we signed up so late they were all out of pink shirts so he got orange. I am so thankful because I just know he would have thrown a fit because to Owen ‘pink’ is a girl color. Lol

It was so cute, half of Owen’s class was sitting backward on stage because they were all trying to follow the older kids lead. It was adorable to watch the younger kids fascination with all the bigger kids.

We got their early to get good seats so Autumn spent her time drawing on one of the offering envelops.

They preformed 3 songs. The first 2, Owen and a few others were still backwards. Too funny!

Some other big news for the week is that we found Owen a NEW PRESCHOOL! We are so lucky we found something to get Owen into this late into the summer. There were only 2 more slots left in the entire Preschool so we are definitely lucky we found it when we did. Owen will be attending Foothills Bible Preschool this fall! We are all looking forward to it, especially since he only has 1 more year before Kindergarten! Ahhhhh!!!!!

That about sums up our week, minus Autumn’s 2nd Doctors appointment, but I plan to do that in a separate blog for recording purposes. Check back soon. Have a great weekend!!!!
