For those who don’t know who the Fink Family is here is a little recap. Brandon’s Mom has a little sister Teri. That would be Brandon’s Aunt Teri. The Family consists of Aunt Teri, Uncle Brian, Ellie (19), Casey (16) and Olivia (12). Now a little history on why this family is so so so important to us. Aunt Teri and Uncle Brian moved their family to New Mexico from Colorado in 2004. Uncle Brian got a job as the VP of Sales for Pulte homes. When Brandon graduated from College, his Uncle Brian offered him a job to move to New Mexico and join his Sales team. Brandon decided to take a chance and move to New Mexico. You following yet? If Uncle Brian never would have offered Brandon the job, then Brandon would have never moved to New Mexico, and we would have never met. You see, things happen for a reason. Any who, when they lived in New Mexico we spent about 3 nights EVERY week with them. Brandon and Uncle Brian coached Casey's Little League Baseball team together for 3 years and I was really involved with the girls extracurricular activities and helping out Aunt Teri. I guess my point in all of this is that we were EXTREMELY close with the Fink Family. In 2008 God called the Fink Family to move all the way to Chicago, Illinois. We were devastated. Since then they have moved onto North Carolina. Crazy to ,think where we may be in 4 years from now? We miss this family dearly. The good thing about living in Colorado now, is that both of Teri and Brian’s parents live in Denver so they visit often. Yay! Ellie, who goes to Anderson University in Indiana is up finishing a summer internship she had here in Denver. The rest of the family came up for a visit and they will be heading onto Wyoming on Tuesday to go to Yellowstone National Park for a family vacation. We plan to see them tomorrow for Autumn’s Bday party but we were all just dying to see each other so we had a very impromptu BBQ at Uncle Brian’s Mom’s house yesterday. We got to spend 5 HOURS with them and it was beyond wonderful! Here are some pictures of our time with the Fink’s yesterday…
The three Fink children are very athletic so the whole afternoon was spent playing sports in the driveway, grass and cul de sac. They played Tennis, Hockey, Baseball, Soccer, and the list goes on. Owen is dying to play hockey so I can not even begin to explain how excited he was. And in all honesty he wasn’t bad! May be his sport, who knows?
Autumn sure loved hangin with her cousin Olivia. Olivia is a super AMAZING dancer. She does competitive dancing and is on a team with High School aged dancers and she is 12!!!!! She is so so talented!
Playing Ball in the Cul de Sac. This is Mr. Casey Fink. He is 16 and is an incredible Basketball player. He is really hoping to play in College which I think should be no problem at all!! Owen adored Casey!
Owen and Uncle Brian had to fix the whiffle ball that Casey accidently broke in half when hitting the ball.
The Boys. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture. Family is the BEST!!!!
When it was Owens turn to hit the ball they moved to the grass. This was Owen’s first time hitting a ball that was pitched to him instead of off a T and he was pretty stinkin good. I think the kid got some serious athletic skills from his Daddy which was passed down from Papa Bruce. I can’t wait to see which sport he likes best. Right now he says he wants to play Hockey, Golf and Tennis. All great choices in my opinion.
Check out that intense look on his face. Love that kid!
Nothing better than a Dad playing ball with his son. Absolutely nothing!
And then it was back to Hockey. The kid is honestly obsessed with Hockey. He could sit and watch it on TV for hours. Like Father like son I guess.
He was exhausted by the end of the day from 5 hours of non stop sports. Pretty sure it was a dream day come true for him!
Precious. Absolutely Precious! Uncle Brian is so amazing. He has an insane love for God and is the absolute best Spiritual as well as a life mentor for Brandon. Brandon looks up to Uncle Brian so much. Uncle Brian was also Brandon’s best man in our wedding. He was also a huge link in Brandon getting this job up here in Colorado. He’s such an amazing Godly Man and Father and I am so lucky to have an amazing husband and father of my children following in his foot steps!
And for those wondering what Autumn was up to this whole time, she was back inside playing with Cousin Ellie…
Last time I ever let Ellie Babysit again. Hahahaha! I’m totally kidding. Autumn willingly went into the Dog Kennel. She is hilarious. She played in this thing forever! Who knew a dog kennel was so much fun?
She’s a bit strange at times. Hints why I call her my ‘wild’ child.
Ellie spent most of the day trying to train Autumn to be a ‘Hippie Flower Child’ since Autumn is such a ‘free spirited’ laid back kind of kid. Autumn took to it pretty well and referred to herself as “Sunshine” all day and left the room saying “Peace and Love”! Lol.
Where on Earth do I even start to describe Miss Ellie? She is a remarkable teenager that has a burning Heart and Passion for God and for Mission Work. She is the most responsible 19 year old I have EVER met! She loves God and shows love and compassion with every person she meets. She is simply AMAZING! Did I mention her fun loving personality? Love this girl!
And that concludes our absolutely wonderful day with the Fink Family! We will forever cherish this special time we got to spend with them.
This morning I was busy primping Autumn for her big day tomorrow. It included a special Mani/Pedi from Salon Mommy…
She loved getting her nails all done and sat super still the whole time. Love my girl!
and this afternoon was family fun time with Lincoln Logs..
Besides Autumn purposely antagonizing her Big Brother by knocking down all his Log Houses he was building and giving him a massive anxiety attack we had a great afternoon as a family :)
“Peace and Love Folks!” Check back in soon for pictures from Autumn’s 2nd Birthday!!!!
