ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!

Well after months of waiting, we finally know what we are having. . . . ITS A BOY!!!!! Vanessa and I were truly shocked at what we pulled out of the card that contained the baby's sex. I think it still has not truly sunk in, we both were convinced that we were having a girl. But what a Christmas surprise. Now we can start decorating the nursery and preparing to welcome our gift from God into the world in just a few more months.

Vanessa is doing well and seems to be getting a little bigger every week, we can't wait to see what she will look like in a few more months. I cannot wait either until I can finally feel the baby move inside her, she has been able to feel the little guy for a few weeks now.

For Christmas we went up to Colorado and had a wonderful time, but boy was it cold there. It was really cool that we actually did get a white Christmas, 7 inches of it. Our baby news wasn't the only exciting event during our time up there. Danny asked Megan to marry him on Christmas day and besides saying "finally" Megan also said "YES." As you can probably guess my mom and entire family was on cloud nine this Holiday.

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and please be safe this New Years.

God Bless,

Brandon, Vanessa, and Baby Boy

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas. . . .

Christmas time is here again, where has 2007 gone? We have had the lights up inside and outside of the house for a few weeks but have finally gotten around to taking some pictures. The luminarias outside were a challenge for a few weeks with all the wind that has been blowing around lately. Most of them were getting knocked over almost every day. Now the wind is gone and it is just freezin.

We are getting ready for the ultrasound this Wednesday where we will be able to find out the sex of baby Burgess, have you placed your vote yet? We will wait to find out until Christmas eve when we are with our family in Denver. A neighbor gave us the idea to bring a pink and blue bow with us and have the ultra sound tech go in another room and place in the envelope the bow that will let us know the sex. We are really excited and thankful we only have to wait a few more days past Wednesday to find out what mom is carrying inside her.

Our next post will have the big news, stay tuned . . . . . .

That belly isn't just from Thanksgiving!!!

That's right everyone, mama has a belly! As you may or may not have known at the beginning of this month Vanessa went on a 2 week cruise with her mom, grandma and two aunts to Hawaii. When she returned, it looked like she enjoyed the all you can eat buffet a little too much, but it was the baby that really enjoyed all the food.

It seems that Vanessa's body is adjusting almost everyday to the miracle growing inside of her. The day after Thanksgiving Vanessa got really sick and could not keep anything down and became severly dehydrated so we went to the Emergency Room to make sure everything was okay with mama and little one. It certainly was no fun being at the hospital for six long hours but it was all worth it when an unexpected ultrasound was performed and we got to see our child a month sooner than expected.

It was too early to determine the sex so no big news yet, but for the 30 minutes or so we had the privlage of looking at our child we were both in total amazement and could not say a word. It is really hard to believe that we are almost halfway through the pregnacy already, where has the time gone?

Enjoy the pictures of both mommy and baby and stay tuned for future posting on both of their development. We love you all and if we don't talk to you wish you a Merry Christmas and may God Bless you in 2008.

Carving the First Family Pumpkin

We spent the night carving our first family pumpkin. Believe it or not this will be Vanessa and I's fourth Halloween together, but the first time we have actually had the chance to carve one. It is a little bitter sweet as we now have to find a new Halloween tradition since we usually went "trick or treating" with the Fink kids. We are looking forward though to being able to hand out candy at our house this year.

We sure had a fun time carving the pumpkin and we did equal work to, we can't wait to taste the pumpkin seeds after we bake them! We are already trying to figure out the costume to dress our little one in next year, any suggestions would be great. We hope you have a safe and fun Halloween and hopefully you had or will have as much fun carving your pumpkins as we did.

We are so excited about becoming parents we bought our little one a pumpkin too, but thought it was to difficult of a challenge to carve the word "baby" in it so we just left it alone. It is hard to believe that on Halloween, Vanessa will be 12 weeks along and we have a doctors appointment set up that day to hear the heart beat for the very first time!!!!!!!!!

Balloon Glow 2007

Here are some pictures of the balloon glow we went to the other night. It is one of the highlights every year for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. If any of you ever want to come down and experience this for yourself you are always welcome to stay with us. I can definately say Vanessa and I enjoyed this more than the mass acension, if only for the fact we did not have to wake up at 4:00am.

We are planning to go back in a few years when the little one can enjoy all the hot air balloons. Nine weeks down only 31 more to go!!!

Has it been one year already??

It is hard to believe that Vanessa and I have already made it through one year. I guess what they say is true, time does fly when you are having fun. What an amazing first year, of course the news of our new addition has definately been the biggest news by far, we are really proud to say that we were re-baptized on September 23rd. We have definately had a hunger to learn and grow with the Lord as much as we can before the little one arrives that way we can bring "it" up in a loving Godly home.

As for our anniversary we went out to a nice resturant called "Marcello's" and we can say that we prefer Lonestar or Texas Land & Cattle better than the fancy places. But for a special occasion it was nice. We enjoy a nice day on September 30th together, we had a couples massage and facials together and just spent the day relaxing. It was perfect!

Now our attention turns to the remaining 3 months of the year and starting to redecorate the new baby room whenever we find out the sex, which will probably be at the end of the year. We have our rooms picked out already now we just must wait to figure out whether we are decorating for a boy or a girl. Only a few more months until we can find out, stay tuned. . . .

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!!!

That's right everyone, Vanessa is pregnant!!! After a few weeks of wondering we found out on Saturday September 8th, that God has blessed us with a new addition to our family. Vanessa is currently 5 weeks along and her due date is May 14th. No worries of summer pregnancy for us, alright! We were going to hold off on telling people but Brandon has been to excited and was telling his customers at work but having them swear to secrecy, so now the cat is officially out of the bag. We welcome any name suggestions as the two of us can only seem to agree on one thing, that we do not like the names each other suggests.

Please keep Vanessa and "Baby Burgess" in your prayers and we will keep you updated on their progress. We plan to find out what the baby is and we should find out right around Christmas time so check back in the beginning of next year to find out what we will be having.

Not a bad way to start off our personal blog. We hope all is well with you and we would love to hear how life is treating you and your loved ones. God bless all of you and we will try to update as time allows. Take care.

Love,
Brandon, Vanessa, and "Baby Burgess"
