The cutest picture yet!

This is a picture from a few days ago, compliments of our amazingly talented friend Matt Altman. They visited Autumn in the hospital and took a few pictures. Hope you all enjoy. We did go to the doctors today for her 2 day check-up and she is doing great and actually has gained 3 ounces from her birth weight. She now ways 6 pounds and 6 ounces. We have definately been able to enjoy this first week A LOT more than Owen. I guess that is the case when you don't have to stay in the NICU for 4 days.
On another note, they took some pictures at the hospital that if anyone knows me I was to cheap to purchase but for everyone else there is still a chance to purchase some pictures of her. You can go to Our365 and you can search either by name or use the following Customer Number when you go to the WebNursery section #33151-3039-45409. You do not need to put the dashes in. I am not going to lie they are pretty cute so at least enjoy the pictures.
God Bless

One more cute picture for everyone

Please welcome Autumn Rebekah Burgess!!!

We did a similar shot when we wen in with Owen so we thought it only fitting to do the same again for Ms. Autumn. Autumn, your mommy is so SILLY!!

Apologies for the delay in updating the post. It was pretty crazy from our last post on. In a matter of two hours from our last post Vanessa progressed to 10 cm dialated and ended up only needing to push 2-3 times to deliver our beautiful baby girl. She offically entered the world at 4:39am. Here are her offical stats and we are looking forward to her being able to come home and join the Burgess family tomorrow.
Height:19.75 inches
Weight: 6 pounds 3 ounces
Vanessa and I would also like to say thank you to all of our friends and family that prayed on our behalf yesterday and this morning. We can honestly say it would not have been nearly as easy if we didn't have each and every one of you interceeding God on our behalf. Thank you from the bottom of both of our hearts.

An update from the Hospital

Thank you Jason for letting us borrow your net book, it is allowing us to update everyone at 2:00am. For anyone who hasn't gotten any updates today, we arrived this morning to Lovelace women's hospital to begin the induction process. It has been slow going for most of the day, but Vanessa has just had her water break with some help from Dr. Krell and is 4cm along. Her contractions are going great and she is as comfortable as possible thanks to a perfectly placed epidural from our friend Richie Flowers.

Now that the baby's head is putting pressure on Vanessa's cervix we are optimistic that it will result in a smooth progression into the delivery process. Please continue to pray for consistent contractions and a smooth delivery once we get to that stage.
We love you all and thanks for your constant prayers!!!!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

Baby Update & Date Night....

So for those of you who haven't heard yet, Brandon and I will be going to the hospital on Wednesday, July 21st to have my labor induced. Yes, Wednesday the 21st as in 5 days from now! We were quite shocked when the doctor suggested this during my last appointment, but once we were able to calm down, face reality, and have a night to sleep on it I think we are adjusting to the news rather well. Since Owen was almost 2 weeks overdue and my body is following the same patterns at this point as I did with Owen, so our Doctor feels that this is the best and safest option for me and for the baby. We are trying to make sure the baby is under 7.5 lbs to avoid any serious complications during labor like I had last time, Thank Goodness! Anyway, my doctor is estimating the baby to weigh around 5 lbs right now. Wow, so tiny, I may need to go get a few preemie outfits!
So as many of you can imagine, Brandon and I have been quite busy the past few days running around trying to get as much stuff done and errands ran before this precious little girl comes in next week and turns our lives upside down! It has been one thing after another around here, cleaning house, packing hospital bags, getting out the last of the baby stuff we had tucked away! So last night we decided to take the night off so we called up our wonderful amazing Babysitter and decided to go out on one last date night before we will have to pay the sitter double! We went out and ate some delicious BBQ food and then headed off to the movies to see Toy Story 3. If you haven't seen it yet, go see it, it was HILARIOUS! Did I mention we saw the movie in 3D? This was my first 3D experience and Brandon's 2nd. Its not something I would pay the ridiculous $4 extra for all the time, but it was fun and a neat experience. And this is what happens when you are the only two in the theater about 15 minutes early. Lol, we had fun!

Well, there you have it, that is what we have been up to this last week. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers over the next week as we are about to go through another huge life change! Thanks in advance and we will do our absolute very best at keeping everyone updated with everything going on.

Owen Playing Bagpipes?!?!

For those of you who don't already know, my very talented Brother-In-Law Chris playes the Bagpipes! He has been playing for about 10 years now and has even taken a couple trips to Scottland to compete competitively. He is really really good at them and it is so entertaining to watch. Well, last night my Sis and Bro-In-Law invited our trio over for dinner. I think everyone is trying to spend some much needed time with the Burgess' before we go into hiding after having our sweet baby girl in a couple weeks. Yikes, yes I said weeks. Anyway, after dinner Uncle Chris got out the mouth piece thingy from his bagpipe and started playing a couple songs for Owen. Of course, Owen was not okay with just watching the demonstration, so Uncle Chris decided to let him have a try. He did rather well, meaning noise actually came out when he blew into it! He was so proud of himself. After that demonstration, Uncle Chris decided to bring out the real deal and see how Owen would react. Quick note: the mouth piece does not make nearly the loud noise the entire bagpipes do. Well, after being completely shocked and curled up in Daddy's arms, Owen realized that it was just music and stood up and danced all around their living room to the wonderful music. Lol.

2 Year Old Pics & Family Photo

Last Friday, the Burgess Family decided it was picture time since it has been quite awhile since we last did them. Owen was due for some 2 Year Old Pictures so we decided to get a few family pictures done too since this will be the last time it will just be the three of us. These are the proofs from the photo place so they are not cropped and may not look fully finished so don't think we got ripped off, they actually do a great job and don't rip you off either! As most of you know, Owen has a really short attention span and doesn't really like sitting still, but we still managed to get some cute ones. Enjoy!
This picture kills me! It looks like a kindergarten picture. He looks like he is 5! Ugh, where did my baby go?

Isn't this picture so sweet? He was trying to listen to the ocean through the seashell. Owen loved these blocks, hints why he wouldn't sit still for the pictures, he just wanted to play. Anyway, he was picking the blocks up and saying the letter on them. So in this picture he is saying, "letter O"! Enough blocks, time to play with a stuffed bear!
And last but not least, Our Last Family Photo before Autumn is on the outside of my belly. O what a wonderful day that will be. I am sick of being pregnant!

The Independence is killing me!

Goodbye Baby Boy, Hello Big Toddler! Warning for all parents of infants/babies, once your little one hits 2 years old they have to do everything themselves, and I mean everything! Sounds nice right? NOT...Owen has finally decided that highchairs are for babies! He insists on sitting on a regular chair just like Mommy and Daddy do. So I guess this wouldn't be that big of a deal except for the fact that our chair are basically bar stools that are 2.5 feet off the groud. Yep, that is gonna be one big fall for one little guy someday! O yea, did I mention that he won't let you help him get on or off of them either? If you even dare try he starts having a major melt down and yells, "No, Owen do it, Owen do it!" Ugh...so annoying.

Wednesday Play Day

Play day was a bit small this week since some people are out of town and others are just too pregnant to leave the house, but we made the best of it anyway. Today Abby and Olivia came over for some more backyard fun. They started off by playing in the pool, then to the sandbox which quickly turned into mud, then to play on the slide and then I think they all got too hot and just wanted to play inside! The morning was lots of fun and the kids burned off some much needed energy. Enjoy the pics.
Owen and Livie sitting at the picnic table together. Awe, how adorable!
The three amigos playing in the sand/mud box! They all had so much fun until Owen got sand thrown in his eyes! Poor guy.
This was adorable. Olivia would stand by the bottom of the slide and count to three and tell Owen and Abby when to slide down. They had so much fun.
Playing with the one piece of sidewalk chalk they found in the gravel from who knows when! They actually did really well sharing the one piece.

Happy 4th of July

3rd of July BBQ:
So for some weird reason, the city of Rio Rancho decided to celebrate the 4th of July festivities on the 3rd of July. Anyway, our good friends Matt & Kaitlyn, better known as Olivia's parents, decided to have a BBQ for all of our small group. They also live right across the street from where the fireworks are set off so we had an amazing view. It was a wonderful evening. It was not too hot, there was lots of delicious food to eat and best of all, all the kiddos had a great time running around the backyard playing. Fireworks didn't start until 9:30pm and all the kids were successful at staying up to watch them and none of them had any past bedtime melt downs. Here are some pictures from our evening.
Here is Owen and I ready to head off to the party. Daddy had to meet us there after work :( poor Daddy is always working.
Olivia and Owen running around in the rocks. Like their shirts? Kaitlyn and I made them matching flag shirts! Too cute!
Here is adorable little Cami playing.
Owen and Olivia spent most of their time running underneath these nice hammocks. Other of them would come out with their hair sticking strait up!
They also thought they were hilarious.Owen also had a blast pushing Cami around in this little car! I think Cami was getting a little annoyed because Owen couldn't push her very fast. Here are the two little ones playing inside. Caleb above is 5 months and George below is 7 months. And here are the boys playing a bean bag toss game outdoors.
Beautiful Libby and Cami.Olivia loves babies. Here she is trying to give baby Caleb his pacifier. So adorable. She is gonna be my little helper with Autumn. The 3 little BFF's. Aren't they so stinkin adorable!!!
Owen's first sparkler! He loved them. Here is Kaitlyn and Olivia watching/trying to record the firework show. Olivia was a bit scared of these strange bursts of fire exploding in the air. Poor girl!Watching the big firework show. Owen Loved them so much and cried really hard when they ended. I think it was half because he was so tired and half because he really wanted more!
4th of July with Nana & Pampo:
So since we enjoyed the 3rd of July with our small group friends and got to watch the big fire work show that night, we decided to have a quiet laid back, actual 4th of July. We invited my parents over to grill some delicious steaks and corn on the cob. The food was great and of course Owen had a blast. We set up his pool in the backyard and let him run around and have fun. Once it started getting dark we went to the front and lit a few fireworks we had left over from a couple years ago. Owen loved them yet again. He is just like his Daddy, the bigger, louder and brighter the better! Now I have 2 pyro maniacs, o boy!

Here is Owen in the pool singing or more like attempting to sing into the water hose. He loves pretending its a microphone! Silly Boy. Pampo put Owens slide in his pool. Owen loved it and had so much fun.The two playing with sidewalk chalk.

Owen got to play with his first Ladybug yesterday. Here is Daddy trying to get it on Owen's hand. Success! Not sure if you can see it, but it is on his forearm. He loved it! Poor guy was really sad when it dropped and we couldn't find it.

Owen and Daddy playing with those little fireworks you throw on the ground and they pop. I think they are called Blackcat Poppers, but I am not positive, you would have to ask my pyro husband. Owen had so much fun with these but he would get really frustrated if he didn't throw it hard enough for it to pop.Owen and Nana getting ready to watch Daddy's firework show! All set up watching the show! Here is what Owen is pointing to in the picture above. He really liked these fountains.Uh-Oh...here goes a big one! Do you see how excited Brandon gets? Boys will be boys i guess. The End! Again Happy Independence Day everyone and Thank You so much to all the Men and Women who have served this country and fought so hard for our Freedom. What an amazing Country we live in! God Bless America!!!!!!
