Yes my friends, Pre-School time is finally here. Last night Owen had an Open House for Pre-School. He is beyond excited about pre-school and I have so many mixed emotions about it. I am nervous, happy, sad, excited, terrified, scared, emotional, and the list goes on. The point of the open house last night was for Owen to go to his school, walk around, check things out, meet his teacher and see his classroom. Boy o boy was Owen excited to meet his teacher, Ms. Frances. We have been talking about her for weeks now so he already had her all pictured in his little 3 year old mind. When we walked into his classroom to meet her last night he glanced across the room and looked up at me and said, “Wow Mommy, is that Ms. Frwances?” He had this face like he was love struck, it was so precious. Then he walked over to her, gave her a huge hug and said, “Hewo Ms. Frwances, I’m Owen. I’m 3 years old and I’m so excited for school.” So stinking precious. She showed him around his new classroom and told him to go look in his Cubby. He was so shocked to find a cubby with his name printed across the front of it! When he opened up his cubby he found a T-Shirt and a new Book to take home, he grabbed the items from his cubby and before even showing Brandon & I what he got he ran back into his class to show it to Ms. Frances. So sweet. He also met a fellow classmate named Jacquin and they hit it off right away. What a great night it was for him, he even got a snack and some lemonade. He is anxiously awaiting for Thursday, his official 1st day of school. (Okay, with the intent to not embarrass my son while making his first impression, I did not take any pictures inside the school while he was looking around. Plus I didn’t want to be “that Mom” so I just have pictures from before and after we went.)
Here he is before we left. He insisted on taking his backpack even though it was just the open house. I can not explain how excited he is about this whole new chapter of his life.
Including his sister in his big night. So sweet. Nana also got to come along to see his new school too.
His new stomping grounds. Before we left, Ms. Frances reminded Owen to please bring an item for show and tell for Thursday. Yes, I almost cried at this point. I am going to be the biggest mess of a Mom come tomorrow Morning when I have to drop him off. O boy!
He immediately had to put on his new shirt when we got home. He was so excited about it he ended up sleeping in it. Lol. He also wanted me to take a picture of him with his new book, The Kissing Hand. What a big grown up boy, he is officially a PRE-SCHOOLER! Check back in tomorrow from pictures from the big 1st day of school!!!
Well, today was our weekly play day with our friends Jessica, Abby & Isaac. We planned to meet at the park by their house this morning at 9:00am, with the intent to beat the heat. We woke up this morning to damp roads and an overcast sky, perfect park weather. It was wonderful, only about 78 degrees and cloudy, so there was no need to bathe the kids in sunscreen (just a little dab on the cheeks). Since Jess has made muffins the last two play days I decided to pack us up a breakfast picnic. I brought these genius Egg, Cheese and Sausage Muffins (thanks to pinterest.com) and we wrapped them up in tortillas, drizzled on a little salsa and we had breakfast burritos on the go. They were quite delish if I must say so! I also brought lots of blueberries, cheese puffs, banana chips, capri suns and some Dr. Pepper for me & jess since we are both addicts. Lol. All four kids had a blast and played non stop for 1 hour and 45 minutes. I think the older ones could’ve kept on going but unfortunately the babies wore themselves out. We absolutely LOVE our weekly play days with the Beistlines!
All set up waiting for the others to arrive!
Abby immediately wanted Owen to chase her upon arriving to the park.
Who wouldn’t be thirsty after all that running? Abby has become quite the poser these days. She cracks me up!
Isaac is taking a few steps here and there now, what a big boy! What in the world happened to our babies? We are now parents of Pre-schooler’s & Toddlers. Ahhh!
Owen is an expert at climbing up slides now. He has been trying to master this for quite some time now. He is so very proud of himself.
Owen can almost swing on his own now. He has been practicing “pumping” his legs. Lol. Abby brought her baby doll named “Baby” to the park. Here she is putting “Baby” down for a nap on her mom’s bike seat. So cute.
Abby asked if I would take a picture of her and Baby. So so so adorable!!
Autumn enjoying her Capri Sun and some delicious blueberries. Her favorite!
Owen sharing his Cheese Puffs with his pal Abby. Its hard to believe how grown up these two are now!
