Snow, A Girly Play Day & Crowley the Elf

Hooray! Albuquerque had its first, and possibly only, snow storm for the year! To some it may not seem like much of a storm but in the lovely New Mexico desert you take what you can get. Here in Rio Rancho we got about 6 inches of snow on Sunday night. The kids were so excited to wake up on Monday morning to piles of snow! Unfortunately Daddy still had to go to work so after he headed out the kids and I bundled up and headed out side to play in the snow. The snow was super powdery so we were unable to make a snow man, but we still managed to have a good time.

This was basically Autumn’s first snow experience since she was only 6 months old last year when we got a snow storm like this. She loved it and had so much fun stomping around. Thank goodness for those awesome new snow boots. Haha. I also discovered that both my kids are in desperate need of some new gloves this winter. Autumn is wearing Owen’s old mittens and Owen is wearing some gloves that are way way way too big for him.

So the kids were having a blast playing around in the snow and then…..

Autumn fell. Not just a little fall, like a face plant right in the snow kind of fall. And then she lost her mittens trying to get back up. Needless to say she was so so so mad. Her poor face and hands were frozen. After packing up and heading inside it took a good 30-40 minutes to calm her down. Poor kid!

Not sure if she is a fan of snow anymore.

This morning after Autumn and I dropped Owen off at school, we headed over for a girls play day!

(Owen was bunddled up this morning! Check out the temp outside on the way to drop him off. Yikes, it was freezing, literally!)

Miss Kaitlyn and Olivia invited Autumn and I over to have a grily play day. The girls had so much fun playing dolls, dancing and coloring and Kaitlyn and I very much enjoyed having an adult conversation while the girls played. Such a fun morning!

Olivia was so sweet to Autumn. Here she is covering her shirt in stickers. So cute.

Here is Olivia trying to teach Autumn to dance to “If your Happy and you know it clap your hand…”

And here are the girls dancing to this cool interactive Dance Video game. Autumn thought it was pretty cool seeing herself on the TV screen.

The girls had so much fun. Thank you so much Kaitlyn & Olivia for having us over! I think Olivia completely wore little Autumn out…

Autumn passed out in the car on the way home from picking up brother from school. She never falls asleep in the car, poor kid was pooped!

And I know Mimi is very curious to know what Crowley the Elf has been up to, so Mimi this is for you…

The kids just absolutely LOVE finding Crowley each morning. Owen’s famous words when he finds him are, “O, Crowley I can not believe you. You are such a silly little elf!” Hahaha, he cracks me up.

The funniest thing Crowley has done to date…He took down all the stocking on the fireplace mantle and replaced them with our underwear. Owen was laughing so hard when he saw this.

Have a great week!

Another blog that brings me joy and laughter! That "Crowley" is sure a creative elf! Finding so many places to appear. Glad to hear the kids are enjoying Crowley.

Love you,
Mimi
