This past weekend was so much fun. My sister, niece and brother-in-law drove up to visit for the weekend. They got in at 11:30pm Friday night and stayed until 4pm on Monday. My Brother-In-Law has two good friends that live in Denver so since Brandon was working all weekend, he decided to stay with his friends and let my sis and I have a fun weekend with our kids! I can’t lie and say it wasn’t a bit exhausting at times with 3 kiddos ages 4, 2, and 1 but it was honestly a BLAST! Much to our surprise, all 3 kids got along perfectly with no fighting whatsoever. I think they all genuinely missed each other as I know my sister and I were dying to see each other. Since we had nap schedules and 3 kids under the age of 4 to handle we didn’t do anything too crazy while they were here, but we did make sure and keep the kids busy and entertained every second they were awake. I have a million and one pictures from the weekend so bare with me.
Saturday:
Saturday morning we got a bit of a slow start in the morning. The kids were so excited to see each other upon waking up that we just let them have at it, slowly eat breakfast, and play play play. Once we finally got around to getting showered and dressed we decided to take the kiddos to play at the park before it was lunch and nap time.
These two were attached at the hip the entire first day!
The lovely Bollinger Family!
RUN!!!!!
Thank goodness for Mini Vans. Lol!
We picked up lunch, ate and the kids were out. They really wore themselves out at the park. After naps, we decided to stay at home and just let the kids play and enjoy each others company….and that’s exactly what they did.
Abi doesn’t have stairs at home so they all spent a lot of time climbing up and down the stairs. Haha
My sister and her hubby just came back from a 3 week trip to Europe so they made sure to bring a souvenir back for the kiddos. Autumn got a super cute Dutch Doll and these adorable wooden slippers from Amsterdam, and Owen got cool Italia Hoodie and a map of Rome. Owen is super obsessed with maps and played with this map ALL DAY LONG! He’s so funny.
BCF’s (Best Cousins Forever). There was Bug Hunting Fun,
There was Jumper Fun,
And LOTS of Sandbox Fun!
These girls thought it was so funny to dump sand on each others legs. I don’t think it gets much cuter than this!
They were all filthy and COVERED in sand!
After all the outside fun we came inside to cool off and have some art time,
M&M’s and Markers are so much fun :)
After art time they all got to get some tattoo work done,
They are hard core!
Then it was quite play time for the kiddos so my sis and I could get dinner on the table.
Autumn read a story to Abi and ‘fell off the wagon’ thanks to her cousin. J/K, Haha. She found Abi’s paci laying on the floor and decided to try it out again. I was really happy and proud she didn’t relapse :)
And after dinner it was bath time for all 3 of them. They had sand in places I didn’t know sand could get into,
I gave them each a bowl with a bath time color tablet in it so they could take a ‘Colorful’ bath. My kids love these things.
Who knew adding colors to water could be so much fun!
Clean cutie pies.
After bath time they all slipped into their pj’s watched a show and it was off to bed. After the kids were in bed and Brandon got home from work it was time for my sister and I to hit the town. We went to the Tavern Bar and Grill in Downtown Littleton where we met up with my very good friend Tammy. We had a blast!!!
Goodness gracious I have missed this girl like crazy. I have such an awesome big sister!
Such a fun night with my girls!
Sunday:
I have to admit my sister and I were dragging a bit on Sunday morning after ‘possibly’ staying out a tad bit too late. Lol. So once we finally all get moving and dressed we decided to take the kiddos to the zoo. I forgot my camera so I only have a couple pictures I took with my phone. The kids had a great time and sure wore themselves walking all over looking at animals.
The kids ate lunch in the car on the way home and then it was nap time for ALL of us, my sis and I included. Owen really doesn’t nap much any more but he still goes to his room for 1.5-2 hours each day for quite time when Autumn goes down for her nap. He is allowed to read or play in his room he just needs to be quite so mommy can have a little down time and sister can nap. Well about every 4 days of not napping he gets really worn out and actually falls asleep. Most of the time when he actually does end up napping I find him in the most random places passed out. This was one of those days.
Cracked my sister and I up when we walked in his room to find him asleep on his toy box. He woke up when he heard us closing the door after finding him asleep. He went down stairs and fell asleep again,
I guess stubborn and sassy would be perfect descriptions for my kids.
Once everyone was finally up and going again, we headed out for some more fun in the backyard. It was super warm out so we decided to fill up the pool for the kids to play in.
After the pool we headed inside for dinner, and after dinner we headed to this local Homemade Ice Cream Shop down the street for some dessert. It was DELICIOUS!!!!
I still cant decide if it was a good or bad thing that we discovered this place. My goodness the ice cream is AMAZING!
Yum, Yum, Yum.
Since the kids were on an extreme sugar high after the ice cream, we decided to stop at a park on the way home to shake all their silly’s out…
Then it was home to relax and get some z’s,
My sister and I watched a chick flick and drank some wine. What a perfect night with my favorite girl on Earth!
Monday:
Monday morning we woke up bundled up since it was a very cool morning and went out to get some breakfast burritos from this great little Mexican restaurant right around the corner from our house. Other than that we just hung around since it was too cool and rainy to do anything outdoors. About 4pm it was time to say our goodbyes and let the Bollinger Family hit the road to head home. The goodbye would have been a million times harder if we weren’t going home in 2 weeks to visit. Can’t wait to spend some more time with them back in New Mexico.
Abi & Owen doing the Mambo, hahaha!
I absolutely love that my sister and I get to raise our kids together and watch them grow together. No way we will let our distance get in the way.
Such sweet goodbyes. They are so precious!
We enjoyed having them here for the weekend and can’t believe it came and went by so fast. I can not wait to see them again in 15 days, 3 hours and 22 minutes (but who’s counting?). LOVE YOU SO SO SO SO much Jessica and Abi! Thank you so much for taking the time to come up and visit, miss you girls already.
Monday was also game day, hints my kids attire, so when Daddy got home from work he joined the crew…
I love my family :)
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
