New Years Eve
Brandon was able to take off New Years Eve from work which made it so he could have another 4 day weekend like he got for Christmas. It was so nice having him home for another 4 strait days! This past Saturday (New Years Eve) was my Saturday to have my niece. I have to admit, having Brandon home was a huge help with 3 kiddos in the house. It was nice for him to be able to spend the day with us as he is usually at work when I have her here. We had no plans basically just hang out around the house. I got a call from Kaitlyn and she proposed the idea of getting together to let the kiddos ride around in their new Power Wheels together. Since we have the Cul De Sac we decided to just have them come over here. Owen was beyond excited when Olivia showed up with her sweet new ride, a Pink and Purple Jeep! They had an absolute blast driving around together and Autumn loved being the passenger in whichever car she wanted to ride in. They were so fun to watch. They would get quite distracted and sometimes it turned into bumper cars but luckily there were no injuries. Haha.
Don’t they look so grown up driving?!
Autumn just adores Olivia. I think Owen was a little sad that Autumn kept wanting to ride with Olivia instead of him. We tried to have Abi ride with Owen but she was way too freaked out to ride in it! Haha.
Abi played it safe and just watched with Kaitlyn and I. (Please don’t mind my attire, I know I am no where near matching.)
Linkin got to come out for a little bit to ride around too! Owen has such great friends!
Once Linkin left had to leave Owen really wanted to ride in the Jeep with Olivia so I had to drive Autumn around. It is very uncomfortable and the car goes really really really slllooowww with me in it. Haha. (Again, I am aware I look ridiculous and don’t match!)
Then they had to give each others cars a try.
Later that afternoon we decided to go to church Saturday night since we are never able to go on Saturdays with Brandon’s work schedule. We dropped Abi home on our way to church and we met my parents at the 4:00pm service. It was nice changing things up and being able to go to church with my parents. After church we were invited to a New Years Party at Justin and Leannes house. They live directly across the street so it was nice to be able to walk right over! We stayed until about 9pm and then headed back home because the kiddos were exhausted and needed to go to bed. Brandon and I stayed up and enjoyed a nice quite evening together on the couch watching a movie. I would like to say I made it to midnight but that would be a lie. Haha. Im an old lady! It was such a fun relaxing night and I would not have wanted to celebrate the New Years any other way then with great friends and my amazing family! Happy 2012!!
There were so many kiddos at the party. I am guessing around 15 kids between the ages of 1-6 years old. They all got along really well. I would never let my kids jump on anyone's couch but Justin and Leanne were encouraging the kiddos to have fun and go wild. Here they are jumping off the couch onto a pile of cushions. They had so so much fun.
Anyone who knows Autumn knows she will not settle being left out despite being the youngest and smallest child there! She is so wild!
Once the kids were tired of jumping off the couches, Justin and Leanne decided to move the couches and put up their jumper in their family room. The kids had an absolute BLAST!
And again, Autumn was not about to sit back and watch the big kids have all the fun. Brandon and I were so nervous watching her in their with all the big kids. She did great though, she is a little toughie!
After the jumper lost it’s fun, they decided to put on Just Dance on the play station. The Adults had so much fun dancing and all the kids would dance around them. It was a blast to watch!
Link and his Dad dancing.
Brandon was even able to play a little pool with the guys!
Autumn was beat when we got home and went strait to bed.
Once Autumn went to bed, Daddy and Owen played a little Hot Wheels together. They had a blast!
Even Mommy got some Lovin from my sweet boy!
New Years Day
The New Year started off great, the kids both slept in until 8:15am. Yay!!! We took it easy in the morning, ran to the store, cleaned the house up and got to cooking for our guests we were going to have over. Our Pastor is a huge Kansa City Chiefs fan so we decided to have him and his family over to watch the Chiefs vs. Broncos game. Sad for us our team lost but it was so much fun haning out with our Pastor and his family. They have become such good friends of ours and the Kids just love playing with their girls. I forgot to take pictures so you will just have to trust me when I say that we all had a wonderful day!
It is now tradition that I make my famous Chicken Corn Chowder for New Years Dinner. It takes FOREVER to make so it is a once a year kind of soup. It did not disappoint. It was DELICOUS! We also had Corn Bread, Cheese and Crackers, Chip and Brandon’s famous homemade Salsa, Nuts and Veggies. Yum yum yum!
Here is Autumn before bed last night. Want to know why she has that look on her face? Well that is because she is taking ornaments off the tree AGAIN and she knows she is not allowed. Stinker!
January 2nd
I am pretty sure I did what half the world did today…take down Christmas decorations. It felt so good to get my house back to normal and take everything down, put away and organized. I feel like I am nesting and I am not anywhere near being pregnant. Guess I am just on a serious organization kick.
I had two amazing helpers today!
Autumn was pretty hesitant to help since she has been getting yelled at for the past month for touching the ornaments. She finally got into it though!
Once I pulled out the step ladder to help reach the higher ornaments the kids started getting wild.
They would get on the stop ladder, climb it, go under the handle and then run around the tree and do it over and over and over.
They had a blast and burnt off lots and lots of energy doing this. Even better!
Hope you all had a safe and fun New Year! Happy 2012!!!!!!
