This title is an understatement at best. Geez, today was so busy, so fun, and so exhausting.
The kids and I (poor Daddy was stuck working all day) woke up, went to the 9 O’ Clock Church service, headed downtown Denver to be guests of Aunt Rose’s at her work Christmas Party (we were there from 10:45am to 1:30pm), headed home to squeeze in some quick naps for the kids, got up and got dressed in our Ugliest Christmas Attire, Mimi came over, and then we all headed to the 1st Annual Ugly Sweater Party our Church was hosting. Crazy day, but it was SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
The Encana Family Christmas Party:
Aunt Rose is the head of Human Resources for a company called Encana. Encana is a energy producer that is focused on producing natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids. Every year their company puts on an extravagant Christmas Party for the employee’s and their families which was hosted at the Hyatt Convention Center Downtown Denver. It focuses mainly on the children and they go ALL out! Since Brandon and his sister Megan both moved back to Colorado this past year, Aunt Rose decided to have her great-grandchildren (Owen, Autumn & Bailey) as her guests this year, and of course the kids Mommies (Me & Megan) tagged along to the awesome party. WOW, is all I can say to describe how fun this event was. They had Name Tag Decorating, Cookie/Cupcake Decorating, Balloon Animals, they got to meet Santa, Juggling Show, Magic Show, A Dance Party, Face Painting, their was a delicious full catered lunch and an Ice Cream Bar. It was like a prom for kids, that’s the only thing I can compare it to. Needless to say the kids were besides themselves with pure excitement at every turn and didn’t stop once the whole 3 hours we were there. Enough of my trying to explain, here are the pictures to show a glimpse of what they experienced today…
Here are the kids all ready to go to the party. Since they knew they were going to meet Santa, they each wrote Santa a letter and slipped it into an envelope to give to Santa.
Owen is asking for some Switch and Go Dino’s this year, we are working on spacing between words :), and Autumn is asking for a new Pink Bike (like her best friend Millea) has.
Upon arrival they immediately headed to the Cookie/Cupcake Decorating Station.
After decorating cookies, Aunt Megan & Cousin Bailey arrived so we decided to head over to see Santa. They each got their picture taken with Santa and got 2 free 5x7 prints. That’s not all, Santa gave each kid a present after their picture was taken. The kids were shocked!!! Since there was a little line for Santa, we occupied our time by snapping a few pictures with the cute backgrounds along the way.
That is one proud Great-Aunt! She spoils these kids rotten!!!
Megan, Rose & Bailey
Autumn was so brave as she is honestly pretty terrified of Santa. A little bribery did the trick :)
As you can see, Bailey wasn’t very sure of Santa, so her Mommy sat with her to calm her nerves.
Owen got an Imaginex Dinosaur
Autumn got a new doll that she immediately named "Baby Dolly”
And Bailey got a V-Tech Puppy
Cutie Pies, too bad Autumn’s picking her nose :(
Getting his arm painted.
They had a big Dance Party while people were finishing up eating. They had some impersonators of Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Michelson, and Usher. They were quite entertaining and after their stage performance they came down onto the dance floor to dance with all the kids. Autumn had a BLAST dancing. She even got to dance with Usher and Carly Rae Michelson…
They weren’t great look-a-likes, but they sure put on a fun show.
Here she is with ‘Usher’ & ‘Carly Rae’.
And after the big dance party it was Magic Show time,
Autumn has a hard time sitting still these days. haha
And after all that fun, it was time to head home.
Such an AMAZING morning/afternoon. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Aunt Rose, we were honored to be your guests today. You are so generous, we love you so much!

Ugly Sweater Christmas Party
We have found an absolutely wonderful Church home here in Colorado. Honestly that was probably our biggest apprehension upon moving was finding a church we loved as much as the one we had in New Mexico. As always, God answers prayers. We love our new church. I have even started volunteering a couple months ago in the children’s ministry and I LOVE it. I truly believe children’s ministry is my calling. Any who Red Rocks Church is in Golden, CO which is about 30 minutes away, but they have a satellite campus in Littleton which is 10 min. from our house. So needless to say that is where we go. They just opened the Littleton campus in April so it is very new. This year the Littleton campus hosted their 1st Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. Since Brandon works on Sunday’s and would not be able to attend the event, my wonderful Mother-In-Law and I decided to be each other’s dates and attend the party. Their was a full catered meal, wonderful fellowship, dessert, and lots of funny/ridiculous entertainment from the staff as well as the attendee’s. The kids got to go to Little Rock (the children's building) where they got to play games, watch movies and had even had a pizza party. It was a fun night filled with lots of laughter.
Here are the kids in their ‘ugly’ sweaters. I had literally just dragged Owen downstairs from his nap so he was still half asleep when I was trying to get a picture before rushing our the door. Poor guy was so tired.
I am SO very blessed to have such a wonderful Mother-In-Law who pours herself into her children & grandchildren. She is a truly amazing woman.
There was some pretty hysterical dance competitions going on. Hahaha.
The guy in the left picture in the ridiculous sweater vest with the hideous turtle neck underneath, yeah that’s our campus pastor JB.
I have no words to explain what is going on here, just use your imagination. lol
And lastly some awards were given to the absolute ugliest sweater wearers.
A wonderful way to end an extremely fun day!!!!!
