Well my friends, the laundry is done and the kids are napping so I can blog about the second half of our Trip up to Denver this past weekend. Yay! I guess I will jump right back into where I left off…
Saturday:
Saturday morning we woke up ate breakfast, got showered and dressed and then we started packing up the mess of stuff my family of four had made all over Papa Bruce’s house so we could go over to Mimi’s house where we would be spending the remainder of our trip. While we were busy packing up all our things the kids didn’t waste any time with Papa Bruce…
They love their Papa Bruce so much and had an absolute blast with him! Thanks again for your hospitality Bruce, we felt right at home! Miss you!
Autumn loves to read so she had Papa Bruce reading to her all morning.
Once we packed up we said our Goodbyes and headed off to Mimi’s house. We ate lunch and the kids napped while we unpacked all our stuff for our stay at Mimi’s. When the kids got up we all headed off to Auntie Megan’s, Uncle Dan’s & Baby Bailey’s house where we were having a mini belated family dinner for Brandon’s 30th Birthday. Megan and Dan just bought a home in Parker, CO in December so we were so excited to see their new home and to spend some time with sweet little Bailey!
Check out their new house. It is BEAUTIFUL inside and out. Congrats again Megan and Dan you have a wonderful new home and a beautiful daughter!
When we arrived Auntie Megan had just finished baking cupcakes for dessert so she decided to let the kids have fun frosting the cupcakes!
I think Mimi got stuck frosting most of them as both of my kids were way more interested in eating them…
These kids LOVE their sweets. Oops!
Brandon and I are so excited to have another little niece. Here is sweet Bailey Rose Henken. She is such a doll and the sweetest little baby you have ever seen. She is really laid back and only cries, or more like whimpers, when she needs a clean diaper or some food. I am 1 proud Auntie!!!!
Autumn also loved miss Bailey. She kept pointing to her and saying “baby” so we decided to let her hold her. So sweet. Of course after Autumn held her Owen needed to also. Haha. I asked Owen if he wanted Mommy and Daddy to have another baby and he said Yes but he would like a brother this time. Lol.
Owen and Autumn wasted no time and quickly made them selves right at home!
And Autumn quickly found her way to her Auntie Megan’s heart after finding a Nordstrom’s Bag and raiding her Wine Fridge. Haha. She cracks us up!
Once Auntie Rose, Aunt Bev and Uncle Don showed up the party got started. Food, Family, and lots of laughter made for a very fun night!
The kids never have any problems warming up to the family they don’t get to see very often!
Megan and Dan ordered some amazing BBQ from this local restaurant right down the road from their house for Brandon’s Birthday dinner. Brandon was in heaven with the ribs!!!
She is such a smiley baby! Love her so much!!!
After awhile we all noticed Aunt Bev, Uncle Don and Owen were missing. We found them upstairs in Megan and Dan’s room watching Blues Clues. Go figure! I went in to check on them and Owen looked up and said, “Mom, get out. We are watching a show.” Haha. I quickly snapped a picture and gave them their space.
Once Bailey and Autumn fell asleep Owen, Daddy and Mimi played a few intense games of Old Maid. Owen LOVES playing games. He would play games all day if giving the opportunity!
Nothing sweeter than watching a newborn sleep. So peaceful and not a care in the world.
Uncle Dan showed Owen how to make their dog Daisy do some cool tricks like lay down, sit, wave, etc. Owen thought this was so cool. After each trick Daisy did Owen got to feed her a treat. This was a big hit! Daisy is the sweetest and most obedient dog I have EVER met!
Sunday:
Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and headed off to church. Owen was so excited to get to go to a “new” church. The kids got to each go to their own Sunday School class while Brandon, Becky and I got to enjoy a very nice sermon on Luke Chapter 4. Really good sermon! When I picked Owen up from his class the teacher told me Owen was so well behaved and they were so impressed with how much he knew about the Bible. She also said they asked if anyone wanted to pray before they had snack and she said Owen raised his hand, stood up and started singing a prayer for the entire class. It’s the song they sing at his pre-school…”Thank you God, Thank you God, for your love and care. Thank you God, Thank you God for this food we share. Amen.” I was so proud of him for being so brave it brought tears to my eyes. The kid has no fear in front of a whole class, so glad he is not like mommy and terrified of public speaking. After church we went back to Mimi’s house for lunch and naps. While the kids were eating lunch some very special visitors stopped by to see the kids…
Mimi’s best friend Pam and her daughter Amy. Owen LOVES them so much, he calls them Grandma Pam and Auntie Amy. Mimi gave Owen some stacking cups she had laying around to play with so he was so excited to show them how they work. Amy is an awesome cup stacker so she gave Owen some lessons. They had a blast!
He even showed off a bit with some dancing. He was hilarious to watch. So silly!
After naps we headed to Auntie Megan and Uncle Dan’s house to spend another afternoon with them. I tell you we really needed to get in our Bailey fix since we wont get to see her again for awhile. Baby’s grow so fast so we needed to soak up all the time with her we could get.
Owen and Mimi posing for a picture that he insisted his bottle of Sprite needed to be in too. Haha.
When we got to their house we decided to all take a walk to the park by their house since it was so beautiful out!
Daisy, Mimi and Bailey enjoyed relaxing and soaking up the fresh air!
This was by far the best See-Saw I have EVER been on!
Even Auntie Megan and Uncle Dan had fun playing on the swings.
This slide was soooo fast and Autumn almost flew off on the curve but she didn’t mind one bit. She kept going down it over and over and over. She is so wild and fearless.
I think Daddy was a bit big for this toy. Lol.
Autumn sharing her fruit snack with Auntie Megan. So sweet!
After about an hour it started to get a bit windy so we headed back to Megan and Dan’s to bust out all the left over BBQ for dinner and to spend a little bit more time together before it was time to head back home.
Daddy & Autumn read while,
Mimi and Owen worked on the new Ocean Puzzle Auntie Megan and Uncle Dan got Owen, and
Bailey took a nap in my arms! Precious!!!!! So glad I still have the mommy touch.
This is by far my favorite picture from our trip. Autumn was not too thrilled with Mommy and Daddy holding the baby. Don’t think she is quite ready to be a big sister yet. Lol. You could tell she wasn’t too happy to find Daddy on the couch holding Bailey so she went and got her Paci and her Blankie and crawled up on the couch and sat quietly right next to them. So sweet!

We love you and miss you all more than words could ever explain! I will be back soon in a couple days to post what we have been up to the past two days since we have been home.
