6 Year Anniversary!

Last night Brandon and I celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary. Wow! Brandon planned a romantic dinner for us at a very fancy shmancy restaurant called Shanahan’s Steakhouse. Yes, as in Mike Shanahan the Bronco’s old coach who is now the Redskins head coach. Any who, it is a very ‘upscale’ place and was recommended to us from 4 different people so we decided to give it a shot for our anniversary. My wonderful husband took care of all the plans the reservations, a babysitter (thanks again Mimi for hanging with the kiddos for us) and so on. Unfortunately I got sick on Sunday, but I was determined not to cancel or postpone our anniversary celebration so we kept things as is. I am so glad we did as we had an AMAZING dinner together at the BEST restaurant I have EVER been to. I know sometimes when you spend so much on a fancy dinner you feel a bit obligated to rave about it, but I can assure you this is not that case. The food was amazing, by far the BEST steak I have ever put in my mouth. Brandon even had flowers (Daisy's which was the first flower he ever bought me) waiting for me on the table when we arrived. He is so thoughtful and quite the romantic. Even though I was very under the weather and had to cut the night a bit short, the night was fabulous.

They gave us a complimentary dessert for our Anniversary. This was the most delicious raspberry cake I have ever had. Yum!!!!

At the end of dinner they asked if we would like to take a picture with one of the Vince Lombardi Super Bowl Trophies. We said sure not knowing at all what they meant…

They meant like actually hold the trophy in a picture, not just stand in front of the display! Now that is one HAPPY HAPPY HUBBY!!!!!!

How cool right! The trophies on display at the restaurant are exact replicas that were made for Shanahan’s Steakhouse by Tiffany & Co. I think it weighed about 25lb each.

6 Years later and we are still just a couple of crazy kids in Love!

~Happy 6th Anniversary to the absolute most amazing husband in the whole world~

I also wanted to share the fun gift I put together for my hubby. The traditional 6th Year Wedding Anniversary gift is Candy, so I decided to make Brandon (who happens to be a true candy lover) a candy gift basket with all his favorites and I attached cute little sayings to each package of candy. For example on the package of Junior Mints it read ‘We were ‘MINT’ to be together and on the the Reece's Pieces it read ‘You stole a piece of my heart’. A little cheesy but such a fun idea for a traditional anniversary gift.

I also included a Mini Bottle of Pop Champagne since that is the Champagne we drank on our honeymoon :)

(p.s. I got the idea from Pinterest)
