As I mentioned in my last couple posts that we were going on a road trip to Denver for 8 days. Unfortunately our trip has come and gone, vacations are just never long enough. I still haven’t quite decided how I am going to fit 600+ pictures from our trip into 1 blog post so please bare with me. I guess I will just go day by day starting with Wednesday thru Saturday and I will do Sunday thru Wednesday in another blog. This will be my longest most picture filled blog ever, you have been warned….enjoy! I will get the Sunday thru Wednesday blog up in the next couple days. I am in the midst of trying to get back into our routine, catch up on grocery shopping, plan a baby shower for this Sunday, clean house and try to plan a small (very small) get together for Autumn’s 1st Birthday so I am very very very busy.
Wednesday Evening:
Brandon got home from work at 4:45pm, we packed up the van and were on the road by 5:15pm.
Road Trip Fun! The van was loaded down on the way up with 6 people and lots and lots of stuff! We made it to Brandon’s Mom’s house at 11:45pm and all crashed immediately!
Thursday:
Tuesday morning Brandon took Owen to his favorite park growing up, Airplane Park, while Mimi and I took Autumn to the new American Girl Doll store. Fun, fun, fun…
The parks are so much nicer in CO than NM. This park had a giant airplane, a train that you could ride, a petting zoo, a playground and a creek you could walk in! So awesome and Owen and Daddy had a blast.
Autumn had fun looking at all the adorable dollies. We got her her very first AGD for her 1st Birthday that is in 2 weeks! Doesn’t she look just like that doll? So cute!
Tuesday afternoon after naps Mimi took us to The Buck Recreation Center to go swimming at this really cool indoor swimming pool. It had a slide, lots of water sprayers and a giant lazy river to ride around on. It was so much fun, I think the adults had equally as much fun as the kiddos.
Here is what the pool looked like. So so much fun!
Tuesday night once we put the kids to sleep Brandon and I went to down town Littleton to meet up with some of Brandon’s buddies. We went to a place called the tavern and had a few drinks and reminisced. We had such a fun time, Thanks for staying home with the kiddos Mimi.
Er, Brandon, Andrew & Travis. These guys are awesome! Brandon has some amazing friends back in CO.
Travis seems more like family than a friend. Brandon has been friends with Travis since they were 8 years old. Wish we lived closer so we could see these guys more often!
Friday:
On Friday morning we went over to Mimi’s dear friend Pam’s house for brunch. Again Pam is more like a third Grandma to my kids than a family friend. The entire Watanabe Family are so amazing. Pam made some delicious homemade chicken salad and we had fruit and chips to go with. It was a vey yummy brunch and the company was the icing on the cake. Pam is going to be my new sewing mentor since she is an experience AMAZING seamstress. Thanks again Watanabe family for everything, we love you all so much!
Me, Owen and Grandma Pam!
Here are the kids playing with Auntie Amy, Pam’s daughter, who we all absolutely adore. She is so very talented and an amazing volleyball player. My kids had a blast with her.
After the morning at the Watanabe’s house we went home let the kids nap and then packed up to head to Papa Bruce’s house for a couple nights. The main event for Friday was taking the kids to their 1st ever Colorado Rockies Baseball game.
Perfect baseball picture, decked out in our Rockies Attire and a bag of Cracker Jacks! I was so nervous for the game because Owen has a hard time sitting still for anything, he is a busy busy boy. Well, I am happy to announce that he sat through the ENTIRE game in his seat with the exception of 1 potty break. He is such a good boy and growing up so fast. Autumn on the other hand missed her 2nd nap and was a bit of a cranky girl that night so I ended up walking around with her most of the game.
Papa Bruce, Brandon and Owen. I love this picture!!!!
After the Rockies beat down the Kansas City Royals there was a huge Firework show! Owen was fascinated and didn’t blink the entire time, just like his daddy. It was a great show! Autumn was indifferent about the fireworks but didn’t hate them.
Saturday:
Saturday morning we took Owen for his very 1st hair cut at an actual salon. Up until this point I have been cutting his hair myself. Thanks to Dora the Explorer and the trip to the barber episode, Owen has been dying to go for a “real” haircut. We decided to wait until our trip to Denver for a hair cut since Brandon’s friend Travis’ Mom is a hairstylist. She used to cut Brandon’s hair growing up so we thought it would be cute to have her cut Owen’s hair for the first time. Tracy is also a very good family friend so we really wanted to make sure and stop by and see her anyway.
Tracy has a grandson just a little older than Owen so she knew exactly what to do to win him over. Yep, she started him out with a mini pedicure. Okay all he did was splash his feet around in the water but from that point on he was in LOVE with her!
She also squirted him in his mouth with a water bottle which was also a huge hit. She is so much fun and also very very beautiful! Thanks again for everything Tracy, we love you!
What a big cheese ball! He is so stinkin’ cute!
When we got back from the haircut Owen, Papa Bruce, Daddy and Autumn went on a walk while I finished getting ready for the day in peace and quite. Yay!
After naps Papa Bruce decided to take the four of us to the Denver Children’s Museum. What a fun time that was, the kids LOVED it.
Me & Autumn playing.
Bubble Fun w/Daddy!
Crawling in the ant tunnel's.
Painting.
It’s not everyday you get checked out by superwomen at the grocery store. Lucky Owen!
Guess Superwomen just wasn’t fast enough! Lol.
That evening we stopped by the Golf course Brandon’s friend Travis works at/manages to say hello to him and his sister. It was so nice out and was fun seeing them!
Cutest Father Daughter picture EVER!!!!!
On the way back to papa Bruce's house we picked up some delicious Dairy Queen. We ate ice cream on Papa Bruce's beautiful patio and by the end of the night the kids were filthy!!!! They definitely got a bath before bed.
Look at their adorable disgustingly messy little faces. They had a blast!
Sunday thru Wednesday pictures coming soon!
