Yes, somehow my super adorable boy managed to have 3 different Birthday Celebrations this year. Wasn’t really originally planned that way, kind of just worked out that way. Last Saturday we had a Birthday BBQ (which we were so excited for since it was our first BBQ of the year) with Brandon’s Mom’s side of the family and a few of our really close friends that are a big part of Owen’s life. Owen chose ‘Hot Wheels’ as the theme of the party and requested that we grill Hamburgers & Hot Dogs. It was a really awesome evening spent with the most wonderful people honoring and celebrating my sweet boy. Couldn’t have possibly asked for a better ending to Owen’s many Birthday Celebrations.
I am normally known for making all my party décor, but with all the craziness going on around here I decided to keep things simple and buy stuff this time around. Owen had fun picking everything out.
For the menu we Grilled Hamburgers & Hot Dogs, my wonderful Mother-In-Law made her delicious Baked Beans, I made a big Fruit Salad, and I made my first ever English Potato Salad (not trying to brag, but it was the BEST potato salad I have ever eaten, thanks pinterest you came through for me once again).
If you like Potato Salad, you MUST go to my Pinterest Board and try this recipe. It is much different from your typical Potato Salad. It’s made with Red Potatoes, Peas, Cubed Cheddar Cheese, and Bacon. O my sweet goodness it is delicious!
We also had a big Drink Selection, Chips & Dip, & a big colorful Vegetable Tray.

And I totally stole this idea from my dear friend Melissa, a Donut Cake (thank you Mimi for providing the donuts). Awesome right. I figured since Owen already had a party with Cupcakes, had a party with a Cake, that we’d switch things up a bit. Major bonus that Owen absolutely LOVES Donuts, who doesn’t really?! It was a big hit. We also had a Pumpkin Pie since that is another one of Owen’s favorite desserts.

Brandon & His New BFF Aaron. Aaron and his wife Amber have become our very good friends over the past couple months. We have game nights with them about every other week. Brandon met them selling them their first home. We could not be more thankful for such wonderful Godly friends. I think our kids like them more than us, they ask almost everyday if Mr. Aaron & Mrs. Amber are coming over. (p.s. not trying to brag or anything, but Aaron used to play for the Indianapolis Colts. As in he used to play for the NFL, no big deal. hehehe)
Present Time:
After he opened every present he looked up and said, “wow this is just what I have been wanting.” Lol, this kid cracks me up!
I think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the biggest hit this year. He is obsessed.
Even Autumn & Bailey got a present….guess it’s a don’t feel left out sort of thing?

We have truly been blessed with the most amazing friends who are so influential in our kiddos lives AND we have the best family in the whole world. What a fun fun fun fun fun filled evening. Happy 5th Birthday Owen Michael…again.
(I am so super duper really badly behind on blogging so I will be back as soon as I possibly can to attempt to play catch up…not making any promises though because I have a busy weekend ahead, but I’ll honestly try.)
