Lake Dillon

This past weekend was SO much fun! My dear friend Christy celebrates her Birthday every year by going to Lake Dillon & renting a Pontoon boat to enjoy with her closest friends. I have heard all about his annual boating adventure, but since we didn’t quite live here last year for her Birthday, this was my first time getting to experience this fun filled day. Unfortunately Brandon is working his tush off right now since he is in charge of opening up a new Community so he wasn’t able to get the day off to join in the fun, but he still encouraged me to go without him. My wonderful and very helpful Mother-In-Law came over for the entire day so I could go and enjoy the fun. I left about 8:40am and didn’t get home until 6pm, it was so wonderful having this time for just me as it is a serious rarity for me. There was about 11 of us on the boat and we had it from 11-2:30pm. It had a grill on it so we grilled up some hamburgers/brats and we all brought some yummy sides & snacks to share…and of course there were some adult beverages being served :) After the boating fun we stopped in a little Mountain Town called Idaho Springs to go to this really cool brewery called TommyKnockers. Then we headed home and the fun filled day came to an end. Wow, what a super fun rare day for me, I am so thankful for the awesome family memebers (my hubby & mother-in-law) who push me to do things like this even though I always feel guilty leaving my kids, especially for an entire day. O the life of a stay-at-home mother! 

Welcome to Lake Dillon…Breathtaking, right?! I am still shocked that in this almost 100 degree weather there is still snow on the mountain tops. So pretty!

Here was my date for the day, my dearest friend Elizabeth aka Betsy. She is from Arizona so we like to talk about our Southwest Roots. Love her!
