Burgess Family: Last weeks fun

This is starting to become a major trend, but I am really pressed for time and I really shouldn’t be blogging……but, I must record & reflect (mainly for sanity purposes) before time passes by and I get too far behind. So here we go with our weekly recap as fast as I can…

Tuesday:

on Tuesday we took the kids and Owen’s BFF Luke to go see Monsters University. It definitely lived up to all the hype, the kiddos loved it. Autumn sat through the entire movies without a single peep, not bad for a not even 3 year old :)

Owen & Luke insisted on sharing the same seat, silly boys. Owen was SO super excited he got to bring a friend along. He’s growing up so fast.

After a lot of convincing and realizing they each needed a cup holder they finally decided to sit in separate seats. Lol.

After the movie we were all starving so we headed to Pizza Hut for Lunch before taking Luke home,

Wednesday:

Wednesday we spent the morning running errands, the early evening at Owen’s last tball practice for the season, and the late evening going on a really long post-dinner family walk. It was a great day!

Autumn got pretty bummed this time around that she is still too short to go in the Hour Supervised Play area @ Ikea, so I took her by the Kid Department of the store before checking out & picking Owen so she could play for a bit. She cheered up pretty quickly!

Owen’s last TBall practice (for this season) was SO hot they decided to practice in the shade instead of on the field. Poor kiddos.

Autumn is equally as sad as Owen for TBall to be over. I have to admit, so am I, I met some wonderful friends that I will most likely spend the whole summer with. SO much fun, we had a blast this past 9 weeks.

After dinner we went on a really long family walk, it was lovely..

Why did my daughter wear rain boots in this dry heat? I dunno, probably because she is CRAZY! The kids sure loved their giant flower suckers!

Thursday:

Since Autumn was off for the week from gymnastics we decided to head to the park for Play & Picnic time on Thursday! We park & picnic A LOT!!!

Friday:

Friday was the FUNNEST day of the week. Our friends the Snide’s (Kim, Emma, Connor & Josh) invited us to go with them and a few friends to Bear Creek Lake Park, we had never been so we were super excited. It’s basically a Beach, but obviously not since we live in Colorado. Lol. You pay $7 to park your car and you can stay the entire day. It was a blast, the kiddos played in the water, made mud pies & a giant mud pit hot tub while the Mommies sat back, chit chatted, and sunbathed. We all ate a picnic style lunch and left full of sand, sun tanned skin (don’t worry, we used plenty of sunscreen), and the kids napped (yes both of them) like they’ve never napped before. We will definitely be back, my kids had more fun than they ever do at a public pool AND it was cheaper. Did I mention this was a 10 minute drive from our house. So so awesome.

Later that night, Owen & Autumn had their first hired teenage babysitter (Miss Taylor) since we moved up to Colorado (which they absolutely LOVED) and Brandon and I got a night out with our friends at the Rockies Game!
