I say this every year that passes, as I am sure all parents can relate, but where on Earth does all this time go? It’s hard to believe that my sweet, handsome, loving, helpful, extremely smart, giving, stubborn, hard headed, detail oriented, silly boy is 5 years old. He is such an absolute joy to this family and I could not imagine life without him. He is my only boy, the child that made me a mother for the very first time, the first grandchild to 4 grandparents who adore him, and an amazing big brother. I cannot begin to explain how very proud of him I am for the God loving Child he has become over these past 5 years and I am so honored to be his Mother.

Owen was so lucky and got to have Two Birthday Celebrations in One Day. Yes, he can be a bit spoiled at times. Guess it's understandable when he is loved by SO many people. The celebration(s) were two days before his actual bday on Tuesday, May 21st. His First Celebration was with his 3 closest friends at the Bowling Alley and the Second Celebration was up in Boulder for a dinner party hosted by his Great Aunt Patty. It was such a fun filled, full of action, no stopping kind of day.
First Celebration:
At 10am, Owen’s 3 Closest Friends (Luke, Keelan, & Emma) were dropped off at our house. Another little friend was supposed to come, but didn’t end up making it. They got to have some fun playing in the bouncy house for about 30 min. before we headed off to the Bowling Alley where we were hosting his party. Nana & Pampo were also here to join in the fun which came in really handy for chaperoning purposes :) We loaded up the two cars and headed off to AMF Littleton Lanes. The kids had a blast all riding in the same car together. It was so loud I could barely hear my Mom talking in the seat next to me. We arrived at the Bowling Alley at 11am, quickly got everyone’s bowling shoes on and started the bowling fun. About 2 minutes after my Mom and I got the van unloaded (about 15 minutes into the party) of all the Bday stuff (Presents, Balloons, Favors, Cupcakes) there was a big Power Outage. Yes, I was in internal PANIC mode trying to maintain an outward sense of calm so I didn’t freak the 5 kids I was responsible for out! After they announced that the problem wouldn’t be fixed for another few hours, I honestly wanted to cry. BUT the manager handled the situation really fast and got us all set up to head down the road about 15 min. to another AMF Bowling Alley. So we (RE)packed up everything, got the kids shoes on, loaded all the kids up, and headed to the Parties NEW location. Once we arrived at the 2nd Bowling Alley, got the kids bowling shoes back on, got the cars unloaded it was PARTY TIME. Despite the crazy mishap, the party turned out perfect and everyone had a wonderful time, most importantly the Bday Boy! We got back to our house around 2pm and the kids had more fun playing in the Bouncy House until their parents came to pick them up. Owen’s BFF Luke got to stay until 3:30pm so him and Owen had some special time to play with all his new stuff. Enjoy these pics from his Bowling Party…

For the record, Owen was pretty sad that his Little Sister won on his Bday!
Owen seriously hit the Jackpot with friends. This is the best group of 5 year olds EVER!
Shhhhhh, I think Owen & Emma have a slight crush on each other ;)
Owen is so lucky to have the worlds BEST Pampo & Nana. He absolutely adores them!
Yes. She is just as crazy as she looks.
“….Happy Birthday Dear Owen, Happy Birthday to You!!!!!”

What an absolute GREAT PARTY!!!! A big thanks to the sweet friends who came and celebrated with us. You are are true blessings in Owen’s Life.
2nd Celebration:
At 4pm, we headed to run a couple quick errands and headed up to Boulder to go to Owen’s 2nd Celebration. Brandon’s Aunt Patty (His Dad’s Sister) has a vacation home up in Boulder, CO. They try and come to it every couple months from their permanent residence in Austin, TX. Since she was coming to visit and so was her other sister, Brandon’s Aunt Janet, she decided we should have a little Dinner Party at her place in Honor of Owen’s 5th Birthday. It was so very kind of her to open up her home and host a fun filled family night at her gorgeous home for my sweet little Boy. She took care of the Pizza Party (Appetizers, Gourmet Pizza & A Delicious Salad) and Brandon and I brought a special Cake we picked out just for Owen. It was a great night spent with wonderful family honoring our Son. Major bonus my parents were here to also share in the fun! Here are some pictures of our fun night Celebrating up in Boulder…..
We ate dinner on her Lovely deck that backs directly up to the mountains, and while we were eating we had some AMAZING guests come strolling by…
YES, a couple of Deer. Don’t believe they were really that close? I have proof.
So cool. The sound of there paws clinging on the deck just feet away from us was something I’ll never forget. Aunt Patty said the come by a lot and that she has seen a dozen at a time. SO neat.
Yes, this beautiful creek runs strait through their backyard. How amazing is that?!?!
Owen’s super cool Spider Man Cake. He honestly thought this was the most amazing thing he has ever seen.
Bailey would NOT take her eyes off the cake from the moment we brought it out and was dying to dig into it :)
FINALLY! Go Bailey Go!
Bailey, Aunt Patty, Bruce, Ramona, Megan & Dan.
BEST present EVER, thanks Aunt Megan, Uncle Dan & Cousin Bailey!!!! Owen has been BEGGING for a Perplexus Maze Ball for Months now. I cannot tell you the hours upon hours he sits and plays with this toy. He also got a really cool Pogo Stick from Papa Bruce & Aunt Janet. Can’t wait to post pics of him bouncing around on it soon.
Aunt Janet was SO sweet and brought a little gift for Bailey & Autumn too since this was her first time meeting her great-niece’s.
It got a bit chilly out, so we came in and changed all the kiddos into their nice warm jammies. Owen QUICKLY got to working on his new perplexus ball while the girls played on the iPad.
And at about 8:30pm we were all SO exhausted from the busy fun filled day and decided to pack up and head out for our hour drive home. I think we were on the road a total of 10 minutes and Owen was sound asleep :)
I’d say he had a really good day.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY SON. MOMMY & DADDY ARE TRULY BLESSED TO BE YOUR PARENTS!!!!!
