I think this is the 3rd or maybe even 4th time we have seen snow since we have been living up in the beautiful state of Colorado, but all the other times there has only been about an inch or two. Not this time, on Wednesday we got about 6+inches in the Denver area. Since we had a busy day Wednesday with the cookie decorating party and since the high was only 21 degrees that day we decided to wait until Thursday (yesterday) to go out and play in it. The high was 50 yesterday with made it much more pleasant to play in since it was actually above freezing outside. The kids were SO excited to go out and play. Autumn really wanted to build a snowman and Owen was dying to have a snowball fight. Here are some pictures of our fun in the snow yesterday.
All bundled up!
She is definitely our ‘snow bunny’, Owen really doesn’t appreciate the as much as she does. Don’t get me wrong, he had fun, but Autumn could’ve stayed out and played in the snow all day.
Since it was 50 and sunny yesterday there obviously wasn’t still 6inches on the ground, but there was still enough to accomplish what the kids wanted to do; snow angles, a mini snowman, and a snowball fight!
The snow was extremely fluffy and powdery so it was really tough to get it to form a ball for a snowman so we headed out back where it was a bit more wet and moldable.
Let’s face it, it’s not a greatest snowman and he’s really small but it made the kids happy and that is all that matters :)
After the snowman was complete, we headed to the front yard where we proceeded to have our snowball fight. I was in charge of making a big pile of snowballs and then it was fighting time. Owen had a BLAST!!!!
Once Brandon got involved and we started pelting each other in the head with ice balls, we decide it was probably time to be done and go warm up inside. We got really into it and quickly realized we were not being good ‘influences’ for our children. Lol. Our kids are cursed as both Brandon and I are extremely competitive!!
Warming their frozen hands by the fire.
And a nice cup of Hot Chocolate to warm their little bodies up.
Such a fun afternoon with the family :) Next snow storm we will be introducing the kiddos to sledding since I have a feeling there are two nice little sleds wrapped up underneath the Christmas Tree. So thankful the forecast is showing snow for Christmas Day :)
