The Dutton’s Visit

So, as you can see I am a bit behind on my blogging, I haven’t even made it past Christmas?? Any who, as most of you already know, on January 2nd, I wound up in the ER with really bad stomach pains. Turned out it was actually Pancreatitis and I was admitted to the hospital. I stayed for 3 days and was released Saturday late in the evening. I’ll do a whole separate blog on that later explaining that crazy journey. As for now I am going to refocus back to the end of 2012. Here we go.

On December 29th, our good friends (The Dutton Family) from New Mexico came up for a visit. They stayed 3 nights with us and it was an absolute BLAST. We even got to ring in the New Year together :) Travis and Brittany are both teachers so  it was a nice little getaway for them over their winter break. Brittany also has a cousin that lives about 40 minutes away from us who just recently had a baby so they figured they could make it a multipurpose trip. They have two adorable little boys Jace who is 2.5 years (he is 6 weeks older than Autumn) and Reese who is 5.5 months. We had a wonderful visit with them. All the kiddos got along perfectly and mainly just played their little hearts out. It was such a relaxed visit and we all really just got to kick back and enjoy each others company. It was so nice how well our parenting styles meshed together which made the occasional disciplining incidences so much smoother.  Sometimes you don’t realize how much you miss certain people until you are reunited after a long separation, and that’s exactly how I felt with them. Miss them like crazy. Since we were so busy having fun, I honestly forgot to bust our the camera most of the time, but here is what I have…

Owen & Jace playing Hot Wheels after breakfast one morning. Jace is such a sweet little boy and had a blast playing with Owen & Autumn. He was in high heaven when he discovered all of Owen’s Hot Wheels and Trains.

Autumn was a bit baby crazy (enough to be interested in him but with out smothering the poor kid) and really enjoyed hanging out with Baby Reese. He is such a little chunk. He is 5.5 months old and weighs about 23 lbs. yes that is more than Autumn. Haha. He is by far the easiest most laid back baby I have EVER met. In the 3 days they were here the only time I ever heard him cry was when he was hungry or cold after a bath. It was so sweet having a baby around as you quickly forget how quickly that time passes.

Here is a quick example of how big this guy is, Autumn is wearing his pants in the picture above and believe it or not, they had room to spare. Crazy, right?!?!

Thanks again Dutton Family for coming to visit. It was such a fun time with you all and we really enjoyed seeing your sweet family, you guys have done such an amazing job raising your little boys. They are so sweet and so very adorable. Looking forward to your trip out this summer :)
