As you read in my previous post, we had some of our good friends in town visiting from New Mexico over the New Year. Since we had 4 kids under our roof we decided it would be impossible to go anywhere to ring in the New Year so we decided to host a small New Years get together this year so we could celebrate with a close group of friends. The party started at 7:30pm, just enough time for the kids to feel included before bedtime, but also prefect timing for us to put them to bed and have some adult time. It was a blast. We had 4 couples over and I think it was the perfect size. Everyone brought over an appetizer or dessert to share and their drink of choice. We pigged out on good food, enjoyed each others company, and played lots of rounds of catch phrase. My friend Christy and I even put together a make shift little photo booth area with props and all. We kind of forgot about it most of the night but we made sure to sneak in a few pics before everyone headed home. Haha. It was the perfect way to ring in 2013! Here are some pictures from our night.
The Dutton Family minus Reese (he was already sound asleep).
Here was our last minute attempt at a ‘photo booth’.
Drink station. So I got this idea off Pinterest to put Cotton Candy in the Champagne glasses and when you poor the champagne over it, it is supposed to make this really cool bubbly effect. It was a big fail and instead we were left with overly sweet colored champagne. Lol, O’Well you can’t win them all.
1 of the 3 Appetizer's Brandon and I did. It is Asparagus wrapped in Phyllo Dough, Yummy!!!!!
The kiddos being silly before the guests arrived.
Kelly & Er Wolf. (Brandon and Er have been friends since they were 8). These two just got married in October. We just love them, such a sweet couple!
Christy & Eric Dickens. We met them at Er and Kelly’s wedding and have become great friends in the few short months we have known them. Again, another awesome couple!
