An Afternoon Hanging With our Friends

Yesterday afternoon all the Dad's, Matt, Matt & Brandon, went to Santa Ana Golf course to hit a few golf balls on the driving range. So us ladies, Me, Kaitlyn & Libby, stayed at our house and played with the kiddos. We are so blessed to have such great friends to hang out with and it is just icing on the cake that all are kids seem to get along great. Of course you have the occasional melt downs and stolen toys, but for the most part the kids really do play great together. We had a potluck dinner once the guys got back, Pot Pie, Grape Salad and a super delicious Carmel Dumplings & Ice Cream Dessert. And the kids had a nice dinner of Macaroni and Cheese with a side of steamed veggies. It was a great night and everyone had a great time. Here are a few pictures of the kiddos from yesterday. There are more to come I just need to upload the pictures off the nice camera but I am too lazy to do it now, sorry. Owen & Cami playing with sidewalk chalk.
Beautiful little Cami. She is growing up so fast now. Her walking has improved so much in the past couple of weeks. She can keep up really good with Owen and Olivia now!Miss Olivia. So precious.

Trying to get a picture of all three of them is harder than you would think. This is the best we could get. All things considered I think it is pretty darn cute! And here they are watching a movie after dinner. The always wonderful Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Adventures in Wonderland.

Playing Outside with Nana & Pampo

A couple nights ago Brandon had to work super late, so Owen and I decided to go over to my parents house to hang out. They have a really nice big backyard and Owen absolutely loves to play outside and run around all over. Once we wore him out good enough we went inside and had a delicious dinner that my parents made, Ribs, Sweet Potatoes and Corn. It was delicious and it was a fun way to spend our evening. Here are a few pics. Sorry they aren't the best because I forgot my camera so I took these pictures on my cell phone. Enjoy.Owen kicking the soccer ball. Hanging from the monkey bars my Dad built about 20 years ago for my sister and I. Owen and Pampo looking up at the tree that they accidentally threw the soccer ball in. Owen sitting in Nana and Pampo's plum tree. Nana helping Owen wash his hands before dinner. I think they had more fun blowing the bubbles off his hands than actually washing his hands. As you can see, Owen hated it!

A Sick House and Abby's Birthday Party

First of all I want to apologize for my lack of blogging lately. I have been sick for about 2 full weeks now! I thought it was just allergies at first, but I kept progressively getting worse and worse. Well now Brandon has all the symptoms I have and none of us are getting any sleep because we cant breath and when we can we end up coughing our lungs up. Needless to say. Brandon and I both finally went to the doctors this morning. We both have Upper Respiratory Infections and Owen has an appointment with his pediatrician tomorrow morning because he has all the same symptoms as Brandon and I and he isn't sleeping much either these days because he is terribly congested. Lots of prayers for our health would be greatly appreciated.

Well despite all of us being sick the Burgess' have still managed to be quite busy lately. We are in the process of rearranging basically our entire house to make room for a new nursery and Owen's new Big Boy furniture that is going to be delivered the middle of this week. On top of that we have been attending Birthday party after Birthday party after Birthday party for about the past month. Speaking of Birthday Parties, one of Owen's Best Friends turned 2 this past weekend. I can't believe it! This is the friend that is just 6 weeks older than Owen. It seems like just yesterday they were weeks old and we were sleep deprived clueless parents. Well we are still clueless, just not sleep deprived. Anyway, Owen and I had a great time at Abby's Garden themed party sick and all. The kids played in the sandbox outside, colored the ground with sidewalk chalk and got to decorate these cute little flower pots with paint and stamps. They made a big mess and had lots of fun doing it. The weather was perfect and Abby seemed to really enjoy her special day. Here are some pictures from her Birthday party. Enjoy and Happy Birthday Abby. Here is the B-Day girl. Isn't she so cute? Here is Owen dragging around this little red wagon. And Livie, looking adorable as always. Abby and her Mommy painting her flower pot. Owen and Abby playing with a bucket of sidewalk chalk. Owen does this new thing. When you ask him what he is doing he puts his finger to his chin and taps it there, looks up and says, "humm" like he is really in a deep thought. Lol, too funny. Easter Photo Shoot

After Church on Saturday evening we went down to the bosque along the Rio Grande and did a photo shoot with the Altmans. It was mainly to get some nice pictures of Owen and Olivia all dressed up for Easter but we did manage to sneak in a few family photos too. We had so much fun and the kids had a blast running around with their Easter baskets looking adorable. Here are some of what we got. There were so many cute ones it was hard to choose which ones to put up. Enjoy.

Easter Morning, Egg Hunt & Party

Matthew 28: 5-7
"The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell disciples; He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you in Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you."

He has risen indeed! Hallelujah! Wow, what an amazing God we have. Since Owen is now old enough to start understanding why we do the things we do, like celebrate holidays, we decided to really do things up for Easter since it is the most important day of the year for us Christians. We tried to bring up the story of Easter in everything we did. It was so cute to hear him walking around the house saying, "He Risen, He Risen!" The most important thing to remember is that God has paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Without his death on the cross we would have no hope in this fallen world we live in . Jesus was crucified, died and was buried; but on the 3rd day (Easter Sunday) he rose again from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God the Father.

Easter Morning:
Owen woke up to see what the Easter Bunny had left for him...

Thank You Easter Bunny. Mickey Mouse was a big hit. Along with the Mickey Mouse Spoon & Fork, Side walk chalk and some new sippy cups.

Easter Party:

We had a very nice Easter Party in the Afternoon to Celebrate Jesus Resurrection. We invited my parents, grandma and some very good friends of ours over for a delicious lunch and an egg hunt for the kiddos. For lunch we grilled some steak and asparagus. We also had potato casserole, deviled eggs, grape salad and rolls. Don't forget the amazing lemon cake topped with raspberries! Yummy! My Parents.

Here is Owen cheering for himself after breaking open the confetti eggs that our good friend Gavin brought him.

Coloring Eggs

Here is Owen and Daddy coloring Easter Eggs with markers Easter morning. We decided to use marking instead of actual Egg dye since Owen is very into doing things himself. His favorite phrase is, "I do it!"

His final product! Three eggs was just enough for a 2 year old attention span.
