Matthew 28: 5-7
"The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell disciples; He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you in Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you."
He has risen indeed! Hallelujah! Wow, what an amazing God we have. Since Owen is now old enough to start understanding why we do the things we do, like celebrate holidays, we decided to really do things up for Easter since it is the most important day of the year for us Christians. We tried to bring up the story of Easter in everything we did. It was so cute to hear him walking around the house saying, "He Risen, He Risen!" The most important thing to remember is that God has paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Without his death on the cross we would have no hope in this fallen world we live in . Jesus was crucified, died and was buried; but on the 3rd day (Easter Sunday) he rose again from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God the Father.
Easter Morning:
Owen woke up to see what the Easter Bunny had left for him...
Thank You Easter Bunny. Mickey Mouse was a big hit. Along with the Mickey Mouse Spoon & Fork, Side walk chalk and some new sippy cups.
Easter Party: We had a very nice Easter Party in the Afternoon to Celebrate Jesus Resurrection. We invited my parents, grandma and some very good friends of ours over for a delicious lunch and an egg hunt for the kiddos. For lunch we grilled some steak and asparagus. We also had potato casserole, deviled eggs, grape salad and rolls. Don't forget the amazing lemon cake topped with raspberries! Yummy! My Parents.
